happy autumn!

lately i’ve been catching up on research, reading for fun, and interview prep but late september, i went to california to accompany my partner during his conference trip and enjoyed an amazing mitski concert while i was there. recent goals have just been to be patient for interview invites and to enjoy the time i have in new york before i head back to california for a research elective. i love autumn and i wish it was longer! but maybe part of why it’s so lovely is its ephemeral nature.

16.03.2023—was literally so tired yesterday, had a two hour nap in the day and still fell asleep at a normal time lol. spent a bit of time studying on campus before a class. thank u for 9.7k 💖✨

I miss being able to go places to study.

I've been so listless and lethargic and unmotivated and ... well, blegh. So I decided to leave the house today, to try and work on my research paper at a cafe instead of at my desk.

And guess what? It worked.

Just being around people has been revitalizing. The bustling life around me. A hot coffee at my side. Sounds of conversation in a variety of languages. A smiling barista. The transient chilly winter breeze through the door as a customer exited. People walking by, excitedly chatting, lugging around bags of Christmas presents.

This might have been the cure.
