journal 09.10.24

today my partner and I went to our favourite forest, had a walk around and took some photographs, the leaves are falling! I always love going to the forest, along with the beach, it has to be one of my favourite places. it is my favourite place to see the seasons change. it is usually pretty peaceful there, mainly dog walkers who probably pass us thinking “why are these people doing a photoshoot here?” (we take photos of ourselves too). I had one of my autumnal dresses on and wellies and an orange bow in my hair, I dress to the theme and the theme is autumn! to be honest the theme to my life is autumn but it is always nice when the seasons catch up. 😉

after that we went into town and popped into a few shops, my anxiety got quite bad at this point, not for any reason that I am aware of, but I was just struggling to catch my breath and felt so damn anxious. I still enjoyed having a wander and a look at some things though, one of my favourite shops is the works, I love all the crafts, books & knick knacks! I did pick up a couple of books as if you know the works you’ll know their book prices are amazing, but I felt so overwhelmed I put them down. kind of regret not getting them now, but next time.

after that we went to my favourite place in the world!… aside from home and the forest and the beach… caffè nero. it’s been my go to since I was about 15, the decor and lighting makes me feel safe, plus their coffees and cakes are always delicious and in my experience the staff are usually nice, too! throughout the years my partner and I have made friends with multiple of the staff who work there, or who used to anyway, they’ve all moved onto other jobs now, however we did bump into someone we knew from neros at pride this year. ☺️

oh! I forgot to say a few shops up from neros is a toy shop and before we went for coffee we popped in there and I fell in love with this beanie baby kitty, she is soo soft and floppy, I get the feeling I may grow a bit attached to her, she just feels so comfortable and safe to hold. I ordered some anti anxiety essential oil I thought I could put on her to bring me even more comfort - lavender, bergamot & ylang ylang. with little teddies I tend to hold them up to my face or rest my chin on them a lot so having a comforting smell will be lovely! it said her name is amber but I’ve decided to name her pumpkin… ‘tis the season.. 🎃

I’m home now and in a hot bubble bath with a face mask on while my partner is down the pub for happy hour with his father. when he gets home it’ll be gilmore girls time, I am ready to back to stars hollow. 🤎🧡
