fallow up on keith spot gene theory, a good example of multiple dominant genes is calicoes orange/black/white spots and swirls, because the gene for color is in the x gene and the y gene is dominant if its a due cat itll be the y gene color, but a female with a x gene of different colors will be both(white is innate in cat fur colors) this is determined as a zygote when the 2 x chromosomes fight for dominance, this is why its furs a patchwork.(and explins why there are few male calicoes(xxy))

Z’chet Nunh

that’s what I’m thinking for calico boy’s name anyways. so i refuse to accept that patriarchy is the norm in general for any miqote society, this is canonically plausible given the narrator bias in enclyclopaedia eorzea among other things, but whether it is canon or not, i don’t care! there will never be a man in charge of the miqote communities i portray. 

In Z’chet’s story I’m aiming for a more grounded and emotionally mature portrayal of what it means to be trans and visibly trans but also undeniably male. so we get nuanced relationships that can not easily be labeled “good” or “bad”. Family is complicated.

As Nunh, Chet takes on the traditional role of guardian of a territory, he is the protector of the community, fighting off outsiders, unruly men, and those who may pose a threat to the community. he’s the biggest dude around! (metaphorically, and also sometimes physically)

im thinking of placing his community somewhere in thanalan, tentatively considering western thanalan, maybe the north end of southern thanalan? idk. depending on where I put it they could end of either semi nomadic within a large territory or permanently settled but im leaning towards the later.

His fights with sword and shield so in game he’d be a gladiator but where in lore the gladiator guild was developed for the bloodsands out of existing sword and shield styles, Chet uses a variant of those sword+shield forms already existing. or another way of saying it is that they share lineage but are ultimately different.

Z’chet is hardworking, responsible, and reliable. all qualities that the huntresses like in a guardian. he has no biological children and is quite content with that. overall by the time he’s 27 and claims the nunh position he’s on generally good terms with the village and fairly well regarded. his relationship with his mother has been complicated but year by year it improves. “chet” is an abbreviation of his birth name which had a couple more syllables.

also remember when i said i would try to make more characters of diverse body types? well i made a bigg boi. he’s a thicc middle aged catman, a member of the ala mhigan resistance and also a baker by day. beer belly and big arms. also 5′3 short king. he gives good hugs. not sure if he’s cis or trans.

and i made calico cat boy nunh. he worked very hard and nunh isn’t just about providing genetic material, its about protecting the community and territory.

was also thinking about the miqote from last time who i’ve been calling moonboy in my head and now that i think about it they may not be a boy at least not all the time, i need a new tag. also ice mage because. ice mage with knives. knife cat.
