Burrard Lucas is a wildlife photographer based in Zambia, who travels the world documenting wildlife in a very unique way. Burrard lucas invented the Beetle Cam.
These remote control camera setups allow him to get unique shots of wildlife that have never been done before. The vehicle allows him to get close, adjust settings and view what it is seeing.
The Beetle Cam allows him to capture reactions from wildlife to the vehicle.
The shots also create a unique perspective of making the viewer feel very small as the subject of the image is shot from such a low point of view.
The Beetle Cam follows what many photographers use in their portrait photography the idea of if getting closer makes a better photo. Also shooting wide to enhance the perspective.
Burrard Lucas’ work showcases a new perspective on wildlife photography giving his own spin on something that for the majority is hard to create new unique images. The photographs give the animals a sense of power rather than just being an object in a photo.
