They had killed his beloved. How was he supposed to live without him?

Regulus' body lay naked and limp in front of him, skin colder than usual and marred with blues and violets.

How could they turn his lover this way? He couldn't help the guilt rippling through his body. After all, Regulus warned him about how his family would react to the news, yet James couldn't stop pushing. He wanted Regulus free from that house, so he was relentless in his begging. He imposed an ultimatum on Regulus: leaving the house or losing him.

Oh, and how greedy James had been; his desires knew no bounds, exponentially growing and gnawing at his heart to have Regulus all for himself. A gape opened in James' body; it could only be sated by Regulus' love.

They had killed him and sent him his body.

They knew of their relationship.

Regulus left him behind in this world, his hunger left raging; now James can't help but crave opening his delicate ribs, making himself small, and crawling to the chambers of his heart. And, what a great idea downed on James! He didn't want his lover's corpse rotting and turning into food for worms. He went to his room before reason could halt him and grabbed Regulus' favorite knife.

In front of Regulus' body, his hunger expanded as the universe did. He held the knife's handle softly and traced his chest with the blade, stopping at where Regulus' heart would reside. He slowly drove the blade into his skin, cracked the ribs, and finally found the object of his desire. It felt like Regulus' heart was pounding, but it was only James' escalated heartbeats that deluded him. He delicately took out the heart and brought it to his mouth, sinking his teeth into the tender flesh.

They were reunited, at last.

this is like my messiest wip everrr i wrote it in 3 mins in my notes app when i got the idea first...

ask game

“Oh my God.”

“Please don’t be mad.”

Sirius gagged.

James couldn’t even touch him.

He didn’t know what he was thinking – was he insane? He must’ve been, and not because of the blood on his hands, either, but rather thinking that Sirius would be alright with James killing his brother.

“I don’t know why I did it,” James said desperately, stumbling forward, “you know I’d never do anything to hurt you–”

“Don’t touch me!”

Sirius could’ve stabbed him and it would’ve hurt less. James fell to his knees, ready to beg for forgiveness– “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m–”

“Shut up, James, let me think!”

James shut up, mind reeling. Forest. Regulus. Dark mark. Blood. Forest. Regulus. Dark mark. Blood. Forest. Regulus. Dark mark. Blood. 

Why did he do it? Why did he do it? Why did he do it?

James racked his brain, but that so-called ‘brilliant mind’ of his gave no response. The ugly feeling in his gut said jealousy but his pride refused to believe he could be jealous of the likes of Regulus ‘bitchless’ fucking Black.

You know why you’re jealous, the voice in his head said, Sirius loves him more.

“Shut up,” James responded.

“Excuse me?” Sirius snapped.

lowk remus also helping eat regulus?? he knows james doesn't like how sirius dismisses the bad shit regulus does & knows james is kinda jealous & feels lowk the same. he doesn't know what james is up to when he seems him quietly going over to regulus in the dark, sneaking out & making sure no one is following (remus is. but james doesn't see), & so when he's been standing by a bush outside regulus' place for ten minutes after james had just broken in, he hears a short scream followed by nothing. so he creeps in, not quite sure what to expect but it was definitely not regulus' body on the floor & james seeming to be cradling it, only for him to look up at remus with a bloody covered mouth & regulus' body looking slightly mauled.. & he definitely didn't expect for james to smile at the sight of him & offer him a bite. & he definitely didn't expect himself to step forwards and eat. but maybe sirius would love him for it. maybe he'd hate him. but james was stroking his head gently & murmuring something about regulus not hurting anyone anymore, & that they know held the love sirius gave regulus inside of them, the love that regulus didn't deserve. & remus ate hungrily. craving that love more than anything.

this with a layer of jealousy and mooncahser. remus looks at james, wrist deep in regulus' bones, and thinks he must be doing something right if sirius loves him, then thinks he's james potter, could do fucking anything and sirius would love him because james potter is brilliant and handsome and good and brave, and really everyone wants him. he comes in and sees regulus dead - he almost thinks it's sirius, for a second - and james is there, came smile and hands and eyes, same mouth he's stared at for so long but covered with blood. james holds his hand out, says c'mere, won't you? and have a bite and remus falls to his knees. james potter gets sirius' unconditional love because he deserves it - but regulus doesn't. and remus doesn't either. he eats, nails ripping flesh apart, hungry, ravenous, nauseous, because surely regulus had to be doing something right for sirius to love him? really, truly love him - not the companionship he feels with remus, something more? he sinks his teeth into the meat and thinks i'm a monster but so was regulus, looks over and so is james. surely sirius can make some place in his heart to love a third?

the cannibal james au where he kills & eats regulus but what about him playing with his food. he charms & woos regulus first, for months, flirting with the man who very easily takes to it, thinking hes in control. & sirius knows james is playing with regulus but he finds it amusing so doesn't try to stop it or tell regulus that james isn't actually into him. & then finally james gets bored & shows his true intentions & makes regulus beg for his life only to grin & ignore him & go in for the kill

regulus becoming a death eater and sirius is so lost and blames himself and james is like 💡!

he'll spend hours with regulus and every time regulus talks james wants to kill him right there but he has to be patient. he comes back and tells sirius every thing and sirius' first question is always if regulus seems less into the death eaters - it just fuels his anger till he's embarrassing regulus on the daily, making him do the most absurd things and sirius finally accepting that regulus is like this, that he's a fascist and he won't change, so he'll give james ideas and laugh and plays along.

james plans, fucking fantasizes, about regulus' murder for months - it's sirius' idea that it be on their three-month anniversary. regulus coming into something on the stove and rose petals leading to the bed in a dimmed room only to be knocked unconscious and woken up bound. screaming as james uses every curse on him that regulus has used on any muggleborn, doing everything he's threatened to do to them. sirius'll pop in here and there and smile and wave and drop a line and then go off again. james will sit and laugh and explain what's going to happen to his body. maybe he'll amputate him and we'll have some forced self cannibalization <3

james killing reg & eating him for sirius/in honour of sirius ?? as a sacrifice kinda thing or maybe just as a method of getting rid of him

idk how sirius serious you intended this to be but i'm lowk obsessed...

so many ways this could go. there is the Sirius Is Bored route. sirius is bored -> sirius is frustrated. james goes genuinely insane every time sirius is anything less than content and when sirius is sick of seeing snape humiliated again and again, he goes for regulus. it starts with anonymous "pranks" and it gets worse and worse, more violent till regulus is getting maimed every other week. then sirius runs away and james shows up w a corpse 😌

or. james being jealous. which is always hot. sirius has expectations when it comes to james, he gets mad and annoyed accordingly but sirius doesn't respect regulus -> doesn't get mad at him ("he doesn't know any better"/"he can't do any better"). even when sirius runs away he just avoids the subject of his brother all together and james is pisseddd because someone who clearly is so pathetic does NOT deserve any space in sirius' heart ?? surely james should go check for himself what makes regulus so special??

so he goes and stalks him for a while but he finds nothing special, and regulus catches on to someone stalking him and is lured into a forest where james is tearing him up, trying to find something, anything, that regulus has and he doesn't - consuming him because he's just so pissed.

when james tells sirius he's upset for abt 4-5 seconds before realizing how hot james looks covered in blood (and it's for him).

and then the sirius is angry. he runs away from number twelve and just seeing regulus in school ruins his entire day. they joke about feeding him to moony and remus turns pale and goes quiet, so they stop the moony part but they're still 'joking' about killing regulus, till james catches sirius crying about it/has a nightmare and james drags regulus' unconscious body to sirius' feet &snaps his bones &tears his skin. sirius doesn't want to even see regulus anymore so james starts using his teeth.

anyway i think we should have cannibal james as a thing.
