Been imagining Steve being so distracted during basketball practice that when the Coach blows his whistle, he jumps and lets out something like, "Jiminy Christmas!" or "Jeez Louise!" with the whole hand on his heart gesture and everything.

And yeah, a few people laugh. Tommy is definitely mocking him. Even Coach is smirking.

But Billy's reaction is the one that Steve takes note of.

Because Billy doesn't laugh. Not really. There's just a breathy huff. Little more than an amused, almost fond sound. And then, right under his breath, Steve swears he hears Billy whisper, "Cute," before he ducks his head down to try and hide the warm smile growing on his face.

And then Steve ends up being even more distracted for the rest of the game. Cause he just cannot shake the image of Billy's grin, or the way that he seemed to blush right to the tips of his ears. And he definitely can't shake the thought that Billy fucking Hargrove just called him cute.

I wonder if Godzilla's biggest weakness is his son and daughter giving him their big, watery, soulful eyes looking at him, and he's like " Oh no, it's a trap, don't fall for it, YOU MUST RESIST" and is defeated. Just like that, by his own kids cuteness.

Oh no! Their infamous puppy eyes attack! His only weakness! He needs to resist...

BUT IT WAS SUPER EFFECTIVE!!
