I know it had nothing to do with the story, but wow it made me imagine something totally different with these three characters! The potential of toxic poly mafia relationship that these two scenes brought me is probably saying something about me 😂

I have a lot of shows I'm loving right now but the show that constantly creeps into mind, the one I'm getting Revenged Love levels of obsession for, the one that I will definitely buy merch from Cpop Universe should any become available is...
Sammy's Children's Day
Its so good, so complex, so sweet and I love how its playing with seme/uke troupes in the best way
I can't recommend it enough
HONG KONG | Jupiter Entertainment, the creators of the Cantonese BL drama Stay Still, have announced a collaboration with Thai production company BYTE for their upcoming BL drama Eyes On You!

So how are we feeling about Stay Still ?? (I've watched EPs 0-3.)
SPOILERS FOR HONG KONG BL STAY STILL (currently being released weekly on Youtube)
I'm enjoying the story about Hayden and Damien (Grandma 100% ships it). The meet cute was adorable and natural, the flirting over home cooked food is always a good stand by, and having a supportive family member is a nice touch. Both men seem like genuinely nice people who are just trying to make it in this world and I'd love for them to make a little family together.
However, the story about Archie and Kelvin has me a bit nervous. While realistic, it's sad to see queer people conform to Het expectations, despite their natural feelings, and cheating on your partner no matter the reason isn't good. Also, I felt like EP 3 could have come with a TW. I had "My Name Engraved Herein" bully abuse flashbacks. :(
I really like the slice-of-life feel to the production, and the music adds a reflective tone to the scenes that make the sweeter moments feel even more touching. The handheld camera shots weren't as annoying as they can be for me in other films and dramas, and the colors are warm and moody.
But what does Phi'Abl think?? <3
I'm liking it. Not loving it.
It’s kinda sticky & grungy (in a way I’ve come to expect from the Philippines, although this is not as cluttered visually nor as brightly colored as the Pinoy stuff).
I do kind of enjoy that lived-in feeling, it reminds me of Taiwanese shorts, or pre-censorship Chinese BL. But you know me, generally I prefer my Bl more fluffy and cheerful (more Our Dating Sim than 8th Sense... as it were).
There is something very honestly queer about the primary leads (tattoo & babyface) in particular the way they dance queerness around each other: verbally, emotionally & physically - laying down breadcrumbs of gay for the other to follow.
The secondary couple (reunion, cheating) is very sad. Although I do love a counter lift make-out sesh.
There is only one way to make the scared top student fall in love with the (not so) scary mafia boss...
...Save his life once and he will start seeing you differently.
Joke aside, I think He Chusan started to see Xia Liuyi differently, when he saw how he acted in the studio. At first, his reputation preceded him and his actions didn't make him very likeable. However, He Chusan may only be a student in finance, but he is able to quickly grasp the ins and outs of the different key players he saw at the studio. He is good enough that he can assess the situation in a very fast way.
This first episode of Sammy's Children's Day was so good! First, the cinematography is impressive. The colors and the lights really emphasize the tone of this story. We have compelling characters with different motivations and personalities. Also, I'm a fan of mafias stories so this one works well for me. Let's also add that I don't usually get to watch Cantonese series, and the melody of the language is truly beautiful. This is really a great start for me.
"If one day someone like that appears in your life, don't hesitate. Don't run away. You must use all your strength to hold onto them. Because their eyes will tell you one thing... I love you." (EP 1 - He Chusan)
Her question came at the right moment because it prompted He Chusan to reflect on it and to come up with a possible answer:
I guess it's a little foreshadowing for what's going to happen between He Chusan and Xia Liuyi.
