Surprise surprise! Here's my OC Liore as Emily from Corpse Bride for #CelebrateCanvasDay 🦋 I'll also do my best to participate in the upcoming #DrawWithCanvas list so stay tuned for that!!

I was obsessed with the piano duet by Emily & Victor. It was honestly my favorite piece & scene from the movie but Emily's song 'Tears to Shed' is a close second 💔

I rushed this one a little but still like how it turned out - better than I expected even 😂 Anyways Nightshade loves all manner of baked goods but her go-to always seems to be pancakes! She loves all kinds; sweet, savory, chocolate chipped, honey-dipped, with bacon & eggs, covered in blueberries & maple syrup or just plain with good ol' whipped cream. She'll eat pancakes with anything 😝

"Who's a good boy?" 🐶⛪⚰️

When Samhain first became a ghoul, normal animals could still sense & were frightened of him thanks to his closeness with death & magick. Cats would hiss, livestock would go haywire & dogs would either bark or whimper if he came too close (Which is why he found it odd that Nightshade wasn't afraid of him the first time they met). He liked animals so this made him quite sad. Fortunately he was able to befriend the Kirkegrim (or church grim) - protective spirits buried at churchgrounds & cemeteries. The most common Kirkegrims he came across were in the form of black dogs but he's met a couple of lambs, sows & even horses in his time. Samhain might have what's been described as a 'feline' spirit but because of the Kirkegrim, he grew a certain fondness for dogs.

I'm a fan of the Jigoku Shoujo (Hellgirl) anime series so I made an AU based off of it! If you're not familiar, it's about a girl named Ai Enma who's tasked with finding people who'd want to send their enemies to Hell out of vengeance. In my AU, Samhain takes on the role of Ai but instead of being called 'hellboy', he's known as The Ferryman. Just like Ai, he has assistants to help him locate targets & carry out simple tasks. Nightshade in this AU is based off the Japanese yokai, Nekomata (猫また) - devilish cats known to live wild in the mountains with the ability to shapeshift into humans. She's a lot more malevolent in this AU, deriving pleasure from torturing cursed souls with their worst fears before bringing them to her master. Not only can she take on any form of disguise but she has an 'all-seeing eye' that helps keep track of targets or alert her team of any danger.

I initially called Nightshade a 'bakeneko' or 'goblin cat' but turns out nekomata & bakeneko are both cat yokai but two entirely different types! The more you know 🌈

If you didn't know this about Ketele already, she's incredibly vain & would pamper herself like the demoness queen she is (or thinks that she is anyway). One of her favorite features are her nails/claws; she takes special care of them & never appears in public without them glamified or painted. Other typical things she likes to do to relax is have a soothing bubblebath while snacking on fresh hearts with a side of blood-wine made from the finest orphan children~

Was a little worried about this coming out right but they ended up being so adorable 😭😭 It's my fave piece right now~ Please enjoy widdle Liore & Sammy before all the mess happened. They met when they were about 7 (both same age). Sammy used to be a shy, sickly boy but after befriending Liore, her teaching him all about his gift of The Sight and how most spirits/fae weren't that awful, he grew out of his shell! He really wouldn't be the confident, charming young man we see today if it weren't for Liore's tutelage & friendship ♥️
