Happy Star Trek Day! Here’s a hasty drawing of the captains hanging out
Star Trek: Discovery 04.07
Back to Star Trek characters (since I'm doing a Trek convention at the end of this month), and I've finally finished up my to-do list of captains! I really enjoyed the later seasons of Discovery and Pike has been rapidly moving up my personal ranking of favourite captains, so these two were fun to draw.
(I've got a growing collection of Trek character prints in my online shop - check out my blog page or pinned post for a link! I'm going to have to put my prices up at the end of August, so now's a great time to get an order in.)
Which Starfleet captain would you most want to receive a hug from?
James T. Kirk
Christopher Pike
Jean-Luc Picard
Kathryn Janeway
Benjamin Sisko
Michael Burnham
Carol Freeman
Another reason why Star Trek Picard season 3 was absolute bullshit (aside from it completely shitting on the Voyager series finale, wasting the Changelings/stealing from DS9, ignoring every thing and every one from seasons 1 & 2, a bullshit plot that made no sense, falling into the nepobaby trap) - the Borg should have known about Michael & the USS Discovery.
Picard is assimilated at the end of TNG s3. Not 10 episodes prior, he has a mind meld with Sarek of Vulcan, and proceeds to be tossed around in the washing machine that is 200+ years of suppressed Vulcan emotion.
Do not start with me “oh it was the 90’s and Discovery wasn’t a thing yet” Discovery was VERY MUCH A THING when season 3 of Picard was being developed. It was infact so much a thing that Star Trek Picard wouldn’t even exist in the first place if not for Discovery. (Same holds true for Strange New Worlds, Lower Decks, Prodigy, &Section 31)
Finding a way to tie Discovery into Picard s3 would have been a way to cement Discovery’s place in the Trek canon and also acknowledge that we would not have this new era of Trek if not for Sonequa Martin Green, Captain Michael Burnham, and the USS Discovery NCC-1031.
Like remember the probe that got all advanced during the red angel arc that also looked like the synth savior/biological apocalypse in Picard s1 and how both were never touched on and then oh yeah we had a whole fucking dimensional space time WHATEVER in season two along with a whole new Borg queen in Dr Jurati and did we use ANY OF THAT?!
No. We just wasted it all so Terry Matalas could once again give himself a TNG themed nerdgasm and hijack a series finale.

happy star trek day!🖖🌟
happy birthday star trek! you will always be famous for inventing fandom and for giving us so many shows and movies 🫶 i had to draw a little captain tribute for the occasion, it felt too fitting!
seriously, words can’t even describe how much i love this franchise and im afraid of getting too sappy, so i just want to thank anyone who’s ever interacted with me on here and who’s enjoyed my stuff - it means a lot and its wonderful that star trek connects us all.
LLAP and happy star trek day!
Oops my hand slipped and redrew an image from one of the comics. How sad. No one could have predicted this
(I added what I thought they’d be thinking to each other.) Just a sketch but thought I’d share it anyway. The perspective was difficult and ik I didn’t get it quite right, but whatever.
