I’m finally reading the Autobiography of James T. Kirk, and I really like it so far!
Fleet Captain Garth of Izar: Decorated Starfleet Captain, famed explorer and tactician. Fought at the Battle of Axanar. The civilisation on Antos IV helped him when he was maimed and dying, imbuing him with the ability to shape shift. It warped his mind and he became crazed and tyrannical. His crew mutinied when he ordered Antos IV wiped out. At trial found him criminally insane (the procedure had changed him) and was sent to the asylum on Elba II with some of the galaxy’s worst criminals. Took over the Asylum and tried to escape via the Enterprise. He failed, and underwent further treatment with promising results.
Appeared in the TOS Episode “Whom Gods Destroy”
I was re-watching “Whom Gods Destroy” a while ago, and this scene struck me as strangely significant. Kirk’s final attempt to get through to Garth invokes the thing that means the most to him personally -- his command of the Enterprise.
Here is a Terran Empire variant of the Ares schematics I did for Axanar. The large format poster will eventually become a backer perk. Personally I can't wait to get a copy for my wall. 4 days left in our Kickstarter campaign.
