The first character I first fell in love with: Leslie Shay. Seeing someone openly queer? My heart was wrapped up in her.

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Severide. He just seemed like the ultimate macho dick, but now I love him. If he could just get his shit together.

The character everyone else loves that I don’t: honestly I think Otis? Like I like him, he’s fine, but he’s just not a character I love. The stuff with his cousin and grandma was a bit weird.

The character I love that everyone else hates: honestly Chili. Like I just want to wrap her in a hug and get her help.

The character I used to love but don’t any longer: Gabby. I’ve so many problems with her but I still loved her because she would always do what she thought was right. Until she went too far.

The character I would totally smooch: all of them??? If I could convince Sylvie to I would. But for characters who canonically kiss AFAB folks, either Foster or Cruz.

The character I’d want to be like: Casey pre season 9.

The character I’d slap: Casey in season 9

A pairing that I love: Stellaride and Brettsey (duuuuuhhhh)

A pairing that I despise: Dawsey. They were just so bad together and both deserved better than that relationship.

Ok, this got away from me and became much longer than I intended 😬 

 Sad and lonely Buck with supportive Eddie because I as usual projected my feelings onto Buck 🙃

86. You are important too.

Buck was sitting on the living room couch, uncharacteristically quiet. The past week had been filled with meeting others emotional needs first, he had invested all his time making sure that everyone was feeling safe and supported, and Buck felt guilty that he was starting to feel his walls crack. 

He would never admit that he needed someone to be there for him at this particular moment. He had tried to distract himself all day. Which resulted in his apartment being spotless from top to bottom, including every dish, item of clothing, towel, sheet that he owned, and his refrigerator and cabinets fully stocked. 

The stillness and quiet were broken by a soft sob that surprised him and made him realize that there were tears rolling down his cheeks. 

Just at that moment Eddie walked in. He had almost had a sixth sense about Buck needing someone, but there had also been no replies to his texts, and the calls going straight to voicemail an indicator that Buck was self isolating that had led him to rushing to the apartment. Once he registered what he was hearing, he practically ran to Buck. He pulled Buck into a hug, which in turn only made the sobs louder. 

“I got you, I got you. You’re okay. Just let it out.” Eddie spoke into the younger man’s hair. 

After a few minutes, they both gently parted from each other, “What do you need?” Eddie asked gently. 

“Nothing. I’m fine. Just go home.” Buck said, clearing his throat, trying to build his walls back up. 

“I don’t want to.”

“You’ve got Chris to worry about. You don’t need to worry about me too. I can handle this myself. It’s nothing important” 

“I’m not worried about Chris right now. I am worried that you don’t think that you or your feelings are important.” Eddie replied, basically reading Buck’s mind. 

“But you should be! He has been having nightmares every night for the past 3 days.” Buck replies, ignoring the second half of Eddie’s statement. 

“Buck, listen to me, you are important too. Now, what do you need?” Eddie said firmly. Buck just stared at him blankly. 

“How about you come over and we have a movie night, we’ll eat ice cream and cuddle on the couch. That way I can be with the two most important people in my life. I worry less when we are all together.”

“That sounds good.” Buck lets out quietly.

This is from my WIP that I thought of after Buck Begins and dragged me kicking and screaming (not really) and threw me full force back into writing and back to this blog. I also am aware that this is more than 1 sentence but some are very short, and it was too hard to pick just one.

"...Be there for Maddie. But don’t try and be there for me now. That ship sailed a long time ago. I thought I might be ready to finally reconcile with you over how you have treated me my entire life and for some reason give you a chance. But I can’t, not now."
