Hi Em! My name is Brianna and as another fellow McKirk blog wrangler I felt we needed to meet! What are your favorite McKirk tropes? (I love your tags btw)

Hey there! 💙💛 Oh, geez, favorite tropes. We could be here all day. I’m a sucker for a good trope, either played straight or toyed with.

When it comes to Jim and Bones, my absolute favorite trope would probably have to be mutual obliviousness - a close cousin to mutual pining, except in this case both parties are too stupid to realize they’re in love with each other.

Other tropes I see as a natural fit for AOS McKirk:

bed-sharing (and its corollary trope, aggressive cuddling)

physical and emotional h/c (was there EVER a pairing better suited for this?)

Bones being a snarky asshole but not-so-secretly Very Soft

Jim hurtling himself face-first into literally everything he does, including and especially being in love

and of course, as readers of palimpsest will know, a good old-fashioned marriage trope. Truly a classic that never loses its appeal.
