Spent the latter half of last week cranking out the voiceover for a very long presentation which means I spent half of Thursday and most of Friday staring at the computer. So today I decided to put off editing and grading the Fence Hopper Socks pattern until tomorrow and stare at something not on a screen. Inspired by @hellohydrangea ‘s foray into tablet weaving, I bought a set of cards and a variety pack of crochet cotton. I also realized that the loom she had built looked a lot like my jewelry loom. So after many many hours of trial and error, I got it warped and started a small sampler. Once it’s set up, it goes really smoothly, and the set up issues are totally due to the fact that I was trying to figure out how to translate it to my loom. Despite not having any pets, today I put the finishing touches on a card-woven whale fluke themed pet leash! Feeling quite proud of my first attempt at such. Following the advice of @silly-jellyghoty , it has snap hooks at both ends as well as 2 D rings sewn in to provide 5ft,4ft, and just under 3ft options. Working on a new project. Thanks @silly-jellyghoty for the inspiration and advice on the design specs! Its going to be a pet leash for a fundraising auction at work! I'm proud how the two medium blues are twisting together to make waves under the fluke. :)
