Edge of Days. Ancient city soaked in rain, heavy with the smells of earth and sea.
Mediterranean Hartwort. Küçük geyik otü. Roman Pimpernel. Tordylium apulum. A hermaphrodite; this plant is self fertile. Classified as part of the carrot family. A perennial whose leaves are edible. A popular and important aromatic herb used in Greek culinary. In ancient times, was used to help cure kidney disease. Found growing all around Amos Antik Kenti at this time.
Home Again✨ After being away for one month and a half, it felt so good to be back on ancient ground. Amos is bone dry and the sun blazes down hard. Exploring through touch and discovering new pieces continues…. Desperate to work with clay, I collected dry bits and pieces from a nearby source, carried them home and revived the clay to its pliable state to bring back to Amos and create new ephemeral works.
Anniversary
You keep me hungry. What I’ve found in you and all I’ve felt in your presence is just a taste of the real you. Ever mysterious, shapeshifting under the sun, between the shadows and changing with the seasons. You keep me awake at night wondering who you really are, and why am I so attracted to you? Pieces of you are scattered everywhere yet they don’t seem to fit. There’s always something missing, something hidden. You ignite my imagination. Casting spells across my mind and taking my breathe away. Together, we are creating a new history. Tactile expressions of our love.
A memory of a place lost in time.
Dirt as Protector.
Dirt as Protector.
Beneath our world exists another world; one full of secrets and one that provides a passage to the past. Several vestiges, buried deep over time, remain intact in almost pristine condition shrouded in dirt, protected from the elements and hidden under the skin of the earth. Dirt saves and has preserved several ancient leftovers that reside at Amos Antik Kenti (Hisarburnu). Dirt has prevented the deterioration of precious pieces once belonging to a temple or a grave. Dirt has kept alive the long forgotten beauty of hard labor that created such exquisite structures. Dirt has captured time and preserved memory of place, people and history.
