Benne seed oyster stew. Ole dish I did back probably 4 years ago. Benne seed is grounded into almost a powder. This was a typical was of seasoning the pot for Gullah Geechee ancestors. We stopped when the growth of benne seed aka African sesame seed discontinued in our community. Oyster stew is still done especially in our #gullah #geechee communities that still have folks that harvest and quart up oysters.
