Support grows for Caroline Glick as NY consul post considered

Backers praise Netanyahu aide amid reports she may be tapped to succeed Ofir Akunis.

Caroline Glick has received a flood of support since reports surfaced that the veteran journalist and current international affairs adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is being considered as Israel’s next consul general in New York.

Rep. Marlin Stutzman (R-Ind.) told JNS that Glick “has been one of the strongest advocates for closer U.S.-Israeli relations for over 30 years. Her diplomatic body of work speaks for itself from her work in journalism, to her informational lectures, and all she has done while serving under Prime Minister Netanyahu. Anyone who knows Caroline can speak to her good character and her passion for tightening the bond between the United States and Israel.”

Glick was a senior contributing editor at JNS and hosted “The Caroline Glick” show on JNS TV before being joining the Netanyahu administration in February 2025.

“What’s needed in New York, especially now, is Caroline Glick as consul general. She’s exceptionally talented. Intelligent, knowledgeable, experienced and articulate,” Fox News commentator Mark Levin told JNS. “Given the hostile nature of the New York City mayor and his administration, in my opinion Israel needs a consul general who is strong, fearless and unapologetic. Caroline also knows the ropes and is highly respected both in Israel and here. She’d be a terrific consul general.”

Zionist Organization of America President Morton Klein told JNS, “I’ve known Caroline Glick for decades. She is arguably the greatest and smartest and most insightful and courageous pro-Israel journalist in the world. She would be the greatest consul general Israel has ever had. She can make Israel’s case in a powerful and persuasive way that will translate into bringing a large and new group of Israel supporters to the fore. She would cause a small revolution in Israel’s PR problems. She is an inspired choice.”

Israel is the only state in the Middle East where the Christian community is growing and thriving. That’s not an accident. Since its inception, Israel has viewed Middle Eastern Christians, first and foremost its own Christian community, as its natural allies and partners. Christians in Israel are commanders in the IDF. They are justices on the Supreme Court. They are diplomats and reality TV stars. And their prosperity is reflected in their numbers. In 1948, there were 34,000 Christians living in the State of Israel. Today there are 188,000. Christians are full and equal citizens in Israel. They have the same legal and civil rights as Israeli Jews. Their per capita income and education level are among the highest in Israel.

The following chart from the Philos Project shows the decline of Christian communities throughout the countries surrounding Israel.

Although the percentage of Christians in Israel’s overall population has declined, this is not due to persecution of Christians. It is due to the massive increase in Israel’s Jewish population by successive waves of Jewish immigration. In 1948, 650,000 Jews lived in Israel. The first major wave of Jewish immigration after Israel’s establishment came from the Arab world. 800,000 Jews were forced from their homes and communities throughout the Arab world in a largely ignored massive ethnic cleansing. Equally, over a million Jews from the former Soviet Union immigrated to Israel when the gates of the Soviet Union were finally opened.

Today it is the Christian communities that are being pushed out of many Middle Eastern countries. As Ambassador George Deek, a proud Israeli Christian Arab has explained, “The ethnic cleansing of Christians in the Middle East is the greatest crime against humanity of the 21st century. In just two decades, Christians like me have been reduced from 20 percent of the population of the Middle East to a mere four percent today.”

Christian communities are often compelled to keep their religion to themselves. Dan Burmawi, a Jordanian convert to Christianity living in forced exile, recalled in a recent essay on X that last year, Christians in Fuheis, the last Christian majority town in Jordan, installed a statue of Jesus in the town square. “Within two hours, they were forced to remove it because it was deemed provocative to Muslims.”

In recent months, on instruction from Prime Minister Netanyahu, the IDF stepped in to stop the massacre of Druse in Syria. He stated repeatedly that Israel remains committed to defending threatened Christian communities from Syria to Nigeria.

Those presenting false claims of Israeli state persecution of Christians and an equally false portrait of Christian life in the Muslim Arab world are distorting reality. If they are believed, they will make the world less safe for Jews. But as Israel has proven, the Jewish state is capable of defending itself. Those who will be truly harmed by these distortions are the people they claim to care for – the Christians of the Middle East.

Oct. 7 wasn't a Hamas invasion. It was a Hamas-led Palestinian jihadist invasion. Most of the invaders were "civilians." 98% of the Palestinians are proud of what they did that day. This isn't a semantic quibble. It is the heart of the issue.

Israeli journalist and show host Caroline Glick goes to the heart of the issue about October 7. It was more than a terrorist attack. It was a reflection of the sickness and depravity of Palestinian society. In Glick's commemoration of the October 7 attack, she described how the Palestinian murderers decapitated so many Israelis.

As this were not sick enough, they then took the heads back to Gaza as trophies. The heads of Israelis were sold at Gazan markets for Palestinians to purchase. As a result, one of the victim's fathers has been searching mud for any DNA belonging to his son, as his son's head was missing at the time of burial.

That is who the Palestinians are. So depraved that they would not only slaughter civilians in their homes, but then sell their heads.

That is who the Palestinians are.

We will never buy the sob stories they peddle about the Israeli-Arab conflict again.

The first time that they were offered a state was with the Partition when the British cut off 65% of the Palestinian Mandate and formed Transjordan. That was supposed to be the Arab state. And they rejected it. And the Mufti came in because of the idiotic British, and invented the Palestinian Arab nation and began jihad against the Jews in the 1920s.

Then, in 1937, the British orposed the Peel Commission Plan that gave them a state in almost all of the land west of the Jordan, in the middle of a terror war that they were waging against the Jews and the British. And they said no; they were being funded by the Nazis at the time. And that was that.

Then they got the Partition Plan of the U.N. in  1947. They rejected it. They want to war against Israel the day after, on November 29, 1947. Israle was subsequently invaded by five Arab states in May on 1948 after we declared independence. And so it began. And then later on, the Rogers PLan called for a Palestinian State in 1970. They rejected it. Then there were The Three Noes at Khartoum.

In 2000, Israel offered them a state in all of Gaza, 96% of Judea and Samaria, and parts of eastern, southern, and northern Jerusalem, including the Temple Mount, and they started a jihad against us. In 2008, Ehud Olmert offered them 98% of Judea and Samaria, and all the rest, including areas around the Kotel, and they said no.

So these are not people with a track record of being peace partners. These are people with a track record of being genocidal jidadists, and it's an unbroken record.

Every day, Jews are attacked by violent mobs in Europe, America and beyond who scream "Free Palestine!" "Free Palestine," is the current way of saying "Death to the Jews." Everyone knows it. But in our world of lies, bigots in suits get away with insisting that "anti-Zionism" isn't Jew hatred, thus proving two things: 1. They hate Jews and want to see us harmed. 2. Israel is the only place where Jews are defended. That is, Zionism remains not only the national liberation movement of the Jewish people, but that without Israel, there would be no Jewish people.

Israeli journalist Caroline Glick, responding on X to the disgraceful, yet predictable pogrom against Jews in Amsterdam yesterday. Once again, a mob representing the Palestinian cause assaulted Israeli football fans outside a stadium. Ever since October 7, when the Palestinians demonstrated the depths of depravity they were capable of sinking to, supporters of the Palestinian cause worldwide have taken their masks off.

Beforehand, those with a veneer of civility claimed they only sought a Palestinian state. Now it's clear that supporters of the Palestinian cause worldwide are just as savage and depraved as the Palestinian jihadist mob that stormed Israel last October.

This is the only cause where people refuse to see the obvious staring them in the face: that the Palestinian cause is always accompanied by violence against Jews. This is the case both inside and outside of Israel. The Palestinian cause is the most dangerous vector of Jew-hatred in the world today, and all remaining civilised people should avoid it. If the Palestinians were as concerned about their future as foreigners were, they would be striving to disassociate themselves from Jew-hatred. Instead, they glorify it and fan the flames of murderous violence worldwide.
