My unnecessary opinion -_-

In fact, I had a choice between Casey and his potential partners.

With Raphael, I didn't really see them as a couple, but rather as BROTP, and Raph already has a strong-willed girlfriend.

With Donatello, I had a problem with the fandom when the "rise of the tmnt movie" hype first started in 2022. And i often seen a lot of hate towards 12 April and some people made her an homophobic towards Jonatello. Although I had one funny video about them, I really love how the fics shows their close bond and how they figure out about their crush. You know, rivals/friends who are already tired of it.

In the case of Leonardo, it was terrible for me to remember two things: first, when I was 12, I shipped him with Raph... (I DON'T SUPPORT TCEST! I was just an unconscious child, I swear!) and the fact that I had one leor*i video in tiktok, which I deleted when I realized it's kind of problematic. And I didn't know where to put him.

When I found out that Leo was kind of "in love" with Captain Ryan in the canon, I couldn't help but let him be bi LOL

And I agree that Leo and Casey are quite close (especially at the beginning of season 3) and they have something in common between them: both are the older brothers of their siblings and the mainstay for the whole team.
