My favorite CassJaya moments so far in Batgirl 2024!
Issue #11! Starting right off the bat with “you are loved” <3
Issue #12, where Cass establishes a foundation of trust with Jaya! Jaya also excitedly shows Samsara, a place of healing, to Cass!! Such a nice setting that thematically and narratively contributes to Cass’s journey (and her initial rejection) towards healing.
Issue #13, one of my fav moments so far!! The tender touch above Cass’s heart + Jaya telling Cass that she needs to learn how to heal after Cass said she didn’t know how a few issues prior…Cass avoiding eye contact with Jaya and pushing her away…
And finally, issue #14!!! So many good CassJaya interactions here, but what’s most interesting to me is Cass asking Jaya if she knew all along that Nyssa was taking the seeds all for herself. Already, their foundation of trust is briefly questioned. Also Jaya saying the Batgirl was her mission, but still actively worrying for Cass while going out of her way to help her!
Also, Cass using her Batgirl(friend) sense to help Jaya too 💖
4 issues in and their relationship is so compelling, so excited to see how it develops from here as the stakes rise!! <33

The CassJaya parallels oh my gosh. Both of them choosing loyalty to an ideal over their fathers and their blood. Both of them hiding secrets from the people who care about them out of fear.
