Tako & Yaki

A pair of Layamat Kanohi thieves, Tako and Yaki are wanted across the Matoran Universe.

Tako serves as the muscle, being a former monk who is highly trained in martial arts. She speaks little, preferring to let her tiny boss do the talking. The Kanohi she wears was stolen from a statue of Voriki in a Vo-Matoran village.

Yaki is the brains of the operations and was once a priestess until she was kicked out for her greed and hedonism. She has since begun teaching "Yakisim", which focuses on others becoming her adoring flunkies. She is both a skilled psychic and Kanohi user, wearing a cape made of her personal collection of favorite ill-gotten gains.

A drawing I did a couple of years ago for a Drawtober challenge, the theme for this one was "Devious Dining." I thought a cat thief stealing a piece of bread would be fitting. And even more so with it being an orange cat, what with their reputation for shenaningans. (Though that's all cats, honestly.)

I figured I'd challenge myself to render more of a scene instead of a singular character, and I think I'm pretty happy with the end result. I plan on working more with scenes like this in my art.
