https://www.tumblr.com/ripley-stark/820568343450959872/are-you-planning-to-watch-season-5-of-the-bear-i the last season isn’t perfect but having watched it i can say without spoiling that sydney’s character is done justice (or justice enough) in the sense that she’s very much pivotal to the plot and overall catharsis of season 5 and her relationship with carmy isn’t diminished at all in this and they actually made it the best part of the season, seeing them interact and be together nearly the whole time. i would say give it a chance if you can but obvs keep in mind your previous criticisms bc imo they’re still valid even after s5
i trust this! now that the season has been out for a few weeks, i've been getting this vibe. though i will say i'm still not seeing the same level of excitement or engagement that we saw in the early seasons by far and it's just making me feel drained by the concept of watching the ending. like i just know the show is past its prime and i'm okay with preserving the memory of its height more than getting closure to the direction they went in. so i'll probably watch it at some point but it's not top of my list

Mike Flannagan’s Sharp Objects Pitch: A reporter goes back to her hometown to investigate a murder and must stay with her estranged mother. They bond over the tragic death of her sister, which was no one’s fault because it was a ghost who targets innocent girls. Though initially hesitant, the reporter also builds the foundation of a new relationship with her youngest sister, the curious young Amma. Despite Amma’s happy childhood, she is now being haunted by the same ghost. The reporter and her mother must band together to save little Amma before it’s too late. In the end their mother sacrifices her own life to save them both and they see a vision of her dressed as Persephone keeping the ghost girls safe even in death, because a mother’s love is eternal
Now you might say that’s great Mike but what’s the ghost’s motivation? Well you see the ghost wasn’t trying to hurt anyone, her own daughter actually died of an illness which was 100% real and not Munchausen by proxy. When her child died all she had to remember her by was her baby teeth, one of which was loose right before she died also explains why the dead town girls were missing teeth. This ghost actually only targeted little girls because she mistook them for her own sick child, which is very tragic and moves Adora to tears. Amma hand makes a pair of a mother and baby dolls and puts it them her dollhouse in remembrance.
