reminder to avoid unhealthy religiosity, which include the feelings of inferiority due to sinfulness.
God loves you so much.
i get asked a lot how I can be Christian if i don't believe in hell, but honestly, what's more important to me is the day someone asked me whether i loved God or loved heaven and feared God or feared hell. i began to finally understand that heaven, hell, purgatory, all of it-- it doesn't matter. i am not called in God's commandments to mark off the days as i wait for the afterlife, pledging devotion out of a desire for paradise and a fear of hell. i am called to love my neighbor, and to love Him. not to beg for a reward in heaven or to lose sleep over the idea of damnation. i am not here because I want something (or don't want something), I am here because I love Him.
I....am....speechless...
Protestants are the Christian version of slippery slope and anything goes... I miss the "good old days" when their argument was only about "old-fashioned" classical hymnody and Mary. Now even Communion and Baptism are wrong according to them.
There's no point of getting into argument with these people. Their hearts and minds are already fixated.

Vance expands Alliance with the Anti-Christ
"The reason that is, is because, under the Biden administration, we would pay all of the hospital benefits for illegal aliens if they went to an American hospital. Now that’s bad for American citizens who want to use those services. It’s also bad for American taxpayers, who don’t want to pay for illegal aliens to use those services." - JD Vance
Vance also claimed that AMERICANS don't want to "wait their turn" while emergency hospitals attend to "illegals" before attending to their health care needs. Next month he's going to say illegals should not be allowed on public transit or some other nonsense like "illegals should go to the back of the bus."
To his point: I am lucky enough to not personally know any Americans that would deny anyone emergency care or that believe hospitals should attend to Americans first as a matter of policy rather than their usual triage policy.
To those American taxpayers that think "American hospitals should be for Americans only" I ask: WHAT WOULD JESUS DO? Especially those Americans that claim to be Catholic: What would Jesus do?
DO YOU THINK JESUS WOULD DENY A CHILD EMERGENCY HEALTH CARE, BECAUSE THAT CHILD OR THAT CHILD'S PARENT WAS RESIDING "ILLEGALY" IN ANY COUNTRY?
Republicans have become so repulsive. How can they support this type of policy? Especially when the majority of people (99%) that are going to be negatively affected by these sickening funding cuts are actually Americans working their asses off to make ends meet - and dependent on Medicaid funds if they ever find themselves in an emergency situation that would bankrupt them without the government subsidies.
The republican party leadership expects Americans to give up their homestead to save the lives of their loved ones, so that the government can "save money" ... while at the same time that money saved is going toward golden toilets in the White House, useless military parades, and an even more useless ballroom.
Donald Trump has spend 1000% more time concerned about the design and "elegance" of his ballroom, than he has spent trying to deliver a "better" healthcare plan for Americans. He correctly bet that his supporters would eat up whatever lie he told them; what a disgrace republican voters/constituents have become.

Hey, you! The Novena to St. Brigid Starts Tomorrow! (1/23)
Mural of Brigid in Co. Kildare
St. Brigid is an incredibly important and inspirational saint for the Irish people, the Irish diaspora, women, poets, children with abusive fathers or an unstable home, healers, blacksmiths, firefighters, midwives, people giving birth, dairy workers, chicken farmers, sailors, scholars, nuns, pro-choice acitivists, women's ordination activists, travellers, AND MORE! 📚
You may already know that there are heavy connections between the Irish goddess Brigid and St. Brigid. The pagan Brigid is a triple goddess, and not in the "maiden, mother, crone" way. She is Brigid the healer, the smith, and the poet. She is a goddess of fire- the inner fire, the lifeforce, the hearth, the fire of the forge, and the fire of inspiration. In fact, her name means "vitality" or "strength." Imbolg is her holy day. 🔥
St. Brigid is a canonized Catholic saint who's said to be the "Mary of the Gael," showing just how relevant she is to the Irish people. She's started her own monastery and was a travelling missionary. She's especially known for her generosity. She's often depicted as holding a shepherd's staff, something only bishops are portayed with in iconography. As it happens, Brigid may have been (and I believe that she was) one of the first ordained female bishops within the Catholic church. 😇
Now, many Catholics will insist that St. Brigid is a serpate human person from the Brigid of mythology, and many pagans will insist the same. There's debate surrounding the literal historical existance of a human saint named Brigid. My personal belief system is syncretic. It's obvious that St. Brigid's life stories have taken heavy inspiration from pagan tradition. There are some obvious differences as well. It's my personal belief that Brigid can and will express herself in whichever way her people, and any people, will recieve her. Back then it was pagan spirituality and a goddess culture. As time marched forward the Catholic church became Ireland's favorite inlet to the Divine. Brigid is a goddess of multiple persons and infinite possibilities. I don't think it's too much of a jump to veiw the two women as emanations of the same personality. It's also been shown time and time again that Irish folklore has transformed and survived through Catholicism. The love for Brigid is no exception. 💚
Here's a wonderful podcast episode telling some stories from the saint's life, as well as diving into the syncretic nature of Brigid.🎙
Here are some prayers you could use for your novena leading up to her feast day, Feb 1st. To pray a novena, you simply select a prayer or prayers to St. Brigid that speak to you, and pray them for nine days at the same time each day. A candle lit in her honor during your prayers (or even a perpetual flame, if you know your fire safety and wanna get fancy) is a nice touch but not required.🕯

Hopefully during this Imbolg season I'll be able to post more about the goddess and saint Brigid. St. Brigid, pray for us! 🕯
