Cb!Apo headcanon -

From a young age cb!Apo was taught that food was a reward by Sal. Apo wasn't allowed to eat until they did something that Sal (their father) viewed as useful. This lead to Apo constantly ignoring her hunger even when doing something that required a lot of energy. Once Sal was gone, Apo struggle to remember to eat since Sal wasn't there to reward them. Cb!Cherri had to keep reminding Apo to eat and was constantly bringing extra food with her to give to Apo. It takes Apo a long time to realize this isn't normal, nor was it something Sal should have ever done.
