Race of the representative: Human (Magic-enhanced)

Race of the population: Varied

Students are accepted from all over the globe, though the population is mostly Magic-enhanced humans.

Population size: ~10,000

Alliances: Grimlands, Mythland, Gilded Helanthia, Hoen Yssler, Losheedi

CCAM is not on bad terms with the Grimlands, despite partially seceding from it.

Mythland and the Grimlands are closely allied, therefore so is CCAM.

Gilded Helanthia remains mostly neutral when it comes to alliances, but due to the potions being traded from CCAM, they made an alliance.

Hoen Yssler borders much of CCAM, and Gem went out of her way to ally with Skott so the Academy would be left alone if conflict arose between the Grimlands and Hoen Yssler.

Losheedi is allied with (almost) everyone.

Political strength: #9

While only a territory, the Academy is world famous for its quality, and it is still a territory of the Grimlands. Therefore, despite barely being recognized officially by the World Council, the Academy has considerable power.

Touching Moon Jellies at the Aquarium of the Pacific

Sea jellies technically are not fish. They are 95 percent water, have no heart, brain, or lungs, and are planktonic, drifting with currents, unable to swim against them. They have been on Earth for at least 500 million years. Jellies are eaten by many different kinds of fish and sea turtles, so they have an importance within a healthy, well-balanced ecosystem.

At the Aquarium of the Pacific, we had the opportunity to touch moon jellies! The part of their body that I am touching in this picture has no stinging cells. Instead, their tentacles and stinging cells or nematocysts are located around their bell, and help them to capture their food. Species, like moon jellies, that consume very small organisms, such as zooplankton and brine shrimp, do not have a sting that can be easily felt by humans. If you feel anything at all it may be just a slight stickiness.
