Frozen 2 CCXP SPOILERS Ending Explained
Hey folks, this weekend I was among the lucky ones in CCXP and watched Frozen 2 and after that the animators Chris Buck and Peter del Vecchio came to talk about the progress in going back to Arendelle.
Chris Buck said that people were always asking about how Elsa got her powers, that's what triggered the sequel, because he felt that that's a loose end worth a story. Needless to say that the original crew was excited and jumped right into it-- (SO LET'S START ASKING QUESTIONS TO THOSE PEOPLE RIGHT NOW BECAUSE I REAAAAALLY NEED FROZEN 3)
The other important thing is that they always new since the beginning how the story was supposed to end. In the whole process they analysed Anna and Elsa's personalities and how they're complete opposites
- Anna's extroverted and no one can see her powers or strength because they are LOVE, specially her unconditionally love for Elsa no matter what.
- while Elsa is the introverted one with "external" powers, everyone can see her ice power (strength). I guess at the same way her powers are her strength they could also be her greatest weakness because everyone can see it and take advantage of it.
After analysing Anna and Elsa's profiles they concluded that Elsa is the PROTECTOR while Anna is the LEADER and always kept that in mind while making the movie.
So for any of you out there (like me) that disliked a bit the ending with Elsa leaving Arendelle and not being a Queen anymore, that's the explanation for the ending and it made everything make sense for me and in a instant I loved the movie and everyone behind it so much more.
