Review:
Ok so as a super biased Daomu Biji series fan, I loved it. Revamp of the first couple of series was nice (and arguably somewhat needed). I remember each scene from the old ones and I think they did it really really well in this one. I have yet to read the novels so unfortunately I can't compare those two yet. However, once I do, this review will be updated with the detailed info lmao. I love the actors for being so (realistically) dramatic whenever they get thrown to the ground or fall. Wu xie's reactions to the snakes and creatures is my favorite thing ever! It's fucking hilarious. I love love loved this drama and I hope you guys enjoy this whump list for it! Please feel free to let me know if theres anything I missed. I'd be happy to update it for you guys. And as always, stay tuned for more whump lists. Synopsis:
What would you do if you accidentally found yourself inside the world of a script, playing the role of a tragic female lead used and discarded by the villainous male lead, even tortured to death? For Song Xiaoyu, the answer is obvious: run as far away as possible. She had the perfect escape plan, but reality said otherwise. Every time she tries to change the storyline or marry a supporting male character, she becomes trapped in a never-ending loop full of "bugs," dying in 108 unique and absurd ways. In short, the game was over for her the moment it began.
Eventually, Xiaoyu comes to a painful realization: no matter how hard she tries, the "plot" always pulls her back to the male lead, Nan Heng, forcing her to re-enact the script's iconic scenes again and again. In this paper-thin world, so many characters are shackled by predestined roles. Some are imprisoned in palace intrigues, others are confined in grand aristocratic mansions. Ending is open to interpretation, but Shi Ying does come back at the end...either resurrected by mystical powers that be or just in spirit form, but Zhu Yan and Shi Ying are reunited at the end.
