Ok so as a super biased Daomu Biji series fan, I loved it. Revamp of the first couple of series was nice (and arguably somewhat needed). I remember each scene from the old ones and I think they did it really really well in this one. I have yet to read the novels so unfortunately I can't compare those two yet. However, once I do, this review will be updated with the detailed info lmao. I love the actors for being so (realistically) dramatic whenever they get thrown to the ground or fall. Wu xie's reactions to the snakes and creatures is my favorite thing ever! It's fucking hilarious. I love love loved this drama and I hope you guys enjoy this whump list for it! Zhou Jungwei is such an underrated actor - the shift from being lost in pleasure to utter heartbreak to betrayal to anger and rage in a blink of an eye!
This show is a fever dream and I'm eating up every delicious second of it.
Boy, once you have the time to calm down, do some digging, remember your human biology classes and do some basic math, you realise the child is a living proof of your strong body and prowess in bed.
After Kunning, I have a huge soft spot for ZJW so every time I see proof man’s not canceled, I get happy.
This is from the upcoming Take By Force (???? Yes I am also puzzled by that title - are they battling for that epic tree house in the background?) with him and Daisy Li who I really loved in Fortune Writer and Broken the Heart.
I am assuming it’s a short drama which is where all the fun often is anyway so bring it on!
Comparable to: New Life Begins (cdrama) ; Under the Power (cdrama); The Story of Ming Lan (cdrama)
If you’re into historically heavily female oriented driven cast then this cdrama will be right up you alley. It’s wonderfully written and extremely well acted all around with a more mature written vibe to it. The cinematography and visuals are gorgeous and breathtaking. It does have some bumps here and there in the pacing towards the middle and end felt a bit rushed, but nothing major. The chemistry between the main leads is one of my favorites. The glances, the coy smiles, oof, smexy as heck. It’s definitely a recommendation and a must watch if you love period pieces.
