I have so many dramas that I dropped halfway, mostly because they're just so fucking boring (but as you said, too, the absurd levels of violence ain't it either (It's just hard to watch at that point...), or there's not enough whump to really bother).

If you have the stomach for it (🙂), you could check out some non-romance historical cdramas. I watched half of The Vendetta of An before tapping out because it was affecting my mental health, but the whump was pretty good so far. Not in abundance either, it was way more angsty than whumpy, but I have a feeling it would only get better worse. War of Faith & Abyss Dweller also seem like they might have some promising whump, but I haven't started either so idk.
