Drabblecember | Day 2: Baking Together | Celestial Mischief

Warnings: 18+, none

"Hand me the powdered sugar?" Celeste asks.

She holds out her hand expectantly as she whips the cream cheese.

"Oh no," Stephen chuckles, "I'm making the frosting. You never make it sweet enough."

"Just cause I don't put the whole bag in?'

He grins and bumps her to the side with his hip, "Why don't you go check on the gingerbread? It should be almost done."

She bumps him back when he tries to pour the frosting sugar into the bowl, making him spill some.

"Hey!"

She pretends not to hear him and pulls the gingerbread from the oven, "Cupcakes should be cool soon, you almost done with that?"

She turns back to him once she sets the hot pan down, only to get a puff of powdered sugar to the face.

"Dad!"

How does Stephen comfort you when you're upset? What have you learned from him that feels parental?

Stephen will sometimes find Celeste gazing into reflective surfaces with her fingers grazing the scar on her right cheek of the cracks in her left. Remnants of past battles and tough decisions made for the greater good.

He knows it bothers her, and he doesn't know if she can't or won't cover them up.

Ever since their run-in with Thanos, she's been a prominent figure in the public eye, but the blemishes are a newer development. During their final battle with Thanos's forces, she was hit with his blade and came out with a nasty gash. And the cracks. He blames himself for those, well, he blames himself for all of it, but even more so for this. He wasn't strong enough to defeat Wanda on his own, and he needed her help to cast the body possession spell from the Book of Vishanti, which caused his third eye and her skin to crack like porcelain.

When he sees her start to focus too hard on it, worried creases forming between her eyebrows, he'll pull her into a hug. He'll tell her she's just as beautiful as she's always been, that she shouldn't be self-conscious about them. That he loves her just the same and he'll always be there for her if she needs to talk about them or anything else.

If that isn't enough, he'll take her for a walk in Central Park. He did that when she was little when she would get upset about him working so much and not being around. They get ice cream and wander around.

Sometimes they'll go someplace different, like Venice, they both like Venice, but she prefers Central Park because it feels like home.

Different aids some of my S/i's have

Mika: After the whole demobat thing, Mika does sometimes need mobility aids. She will either use crutches or a cane depending on if it's her ankle or knee that's bothering her.

Stelle: Between her anxiety, adhd, and autism, she does get sensory overload a lot, so she always carries her sound canceling headphones. She also keeps super dark sunglasses with her in case her photosensitivity gets too bad. And a pen and notepad for if she goes nonverbal.

Bradey: She has really thick glasses, even when she was a toddler. After the whole Nogitsune thing and playing Lacrosse so hard in high school, (and all the injuries that came with both) Bradey can have a hard time staying upright and walking. So when she's having a bad day, she uses a wheelchair to get around. She also sometimes has to rely on Google translate when she forgets how to speak English (which is only when she's exhausted)

Celeste: Her hearing was damaged in The Battle of New York, and she's used hearing aids ever since. They were damaged when she fell to Sakaar, and that's when she learned that Loki knew sign too.

Fae: Is mostly deaf in one ear and needs a hearing aid.

Evan: Goes non-verbal, and relies on text to speech.

Lucinda: She's been in in enough Jaeger accidents that it's not surprising she would need mobility aids. But she also has a mechanical arm and robotic ocular replacement.

Séamus: Wears a knee brace most of the time, but will use a cane at home/in camp.

Reggie: Uses a back brace most days.

Curli: Uses a cane for mobility reasons.
