We just got insurance for our 3 cats starting this year! We havent used it yet, but it is beyond reassuring to know we're covered for emergencies now. We had a cat pass away a year ago, bc his sudden heart failure was too progressed to treat reliably (a 50/50 shot to extend his life for a year (with no guarantee on quality)). But even if it was 100% chance of 10 more years, it was more than $7000 over the course of a year, and we literally had no choice... now we'll be able to have that choice

This is EXACTLY my thinking. Since most insurances aren’t going to cover a wellness visit within a reasonable price range for me, I’d like to have the option for emergencies. Even having them cover 50% over the deductible is better than nothing. I’ve looked at a few options, but right now I’m leaning heavily towards the cheaper option. The more expensive option covers wellness visits, BUT it will cost just under $300 per month for all five cats. When a wellness visit will cost me around $600 for all five. So far I haven’t found a plan that makes the wellness visit coverage worth it. But I’m still shopping around. 

I did find an affordable plan for all 5 cats with no limits. As usual, the deductibles get higher and the percent they cover gets lower as the cat gets older, but if for $60/month I can realistically know that if there’s an emergency, price isn’t going to be the major deciding factor in care, it’s worth it.

About the pronouns question from earlier: I am agender and use they/them with people I'm out to, but other pronouns don't bother me as long as the person using them understands that I don't identify with a gender. Pronouns are just another form of gender expression the same way that clothing, etc. is. Wear a dress and a tie at the same time if you like! Use whatever pronouns you want! Expression =/= identity.

Coran x Alfor

I dig it! The king and his royal advisor, what’s not to like about that? They obviously have known each other for most of their lives. You can tell from the decorations in Corans room that Alfor is someone he was very close to and misses dearly. And Coran is the one Alfor entrusted with the well being of his daughter in a war he knew they were losing. He sent Coran with her to keep her safe. These two obviously had to love and trust each very much. So tbh iconic

Yesterday it was sunny and 33°C so I walked over a mile to Harvard Square from my office to run errands and then went home and made a pot of tea. I don't own an air conditioner (everyone is confused by this). Last year I slept under a down comforter until late June. Ideal weather begins at 26°C and 60% humidity.

Just wanted to slide into your inbox to give you some love and reassurance that there will be no witch hunt or catastrophic loss of faith in vets over one well-intentioned if off-base post. There are FAR more outlandish posts with FAR more visibility out on Tumblr, and thankfully the general public is pretty good at not taking everything at face value. Your behavioral advice is always so helpful, and I hope you know how appreciated you and your insights are♡

I appreciate it. The post is still going around, and there’s nothing I can do to stop it, unfortunately. I appreciate the folks who gave me their best wishes. I am, however, now terrified of answering certain questions without outlining things very very carefully so they can’t be misconstrued and it’s really eating into my ability to answer questions.
