Certain birds only fly by night
We come by candle light
We come in numbers
With a song in the dark
For the broken of heart
(song - Certain Birds by Sparkbird, Shayfer James, and Fish in a Birdcage)

Certain Birds // Chapter Five
Aziraphale was standing in the shadows between three hills, and he was listening to the sound of a barking dog.
He’d followed the directions Jay had given him months before, taking the road north past Tŷ Tywyll and into a small valley until he came across a wooden signpost emblazoned with a crimson J, where he’d turned right. He’d seen the rising curls of black smoke and found himself here, at a dead-end road with hills on all but one side.
It was a shockingly beautiful place, even in its barren state of browns and greys, and Aziraphale found himself wishing he could have seen it when it had been green. He hadn’t ever spent much time in Wales, Before, and he’d come to regret that since.
Jay’s farm was small, tucked closely into the sides of the hills, his cottage built under an overhang in the rock face. It provided the only pops of colour in the landscape. The door was stained red, and the green of Jay’s plants looked almost luminescent in the low light of Nightfall.

Back with more of this fic! I'm really enjoying writing it so far; if you're keen on it as well, I'd love to know (and you can send any extra thanks and good vibes to @infinitevariety who is relentlessly supportive and a wonderful beta)!
Certain Birds thing :)

YES I HAVE!! I really like it although it needs. more sparkbird. ALSO INEFFABLE MENTIIN????
No because I think the wonderful thing about Certain Birds is that I can pinpoint exactly which elements of this song are distinctly Shayfer James, Fish in a Birdcage, or Sparkbird, and they all work really well together.
