doing some hcs! i divided it into three parts bc i think he acts differently with different age groups of littles

warnings: talks of crying/tantrums, one mention of death, one mention of fighting, use of "big brother"

(0-2) babyspace

literally the definition of "fake it till you make it", since scout's usually the youngest of whatever group he's in (whether that be the mercs or his family), he's never had to take care of a baby before

holds you pretty awkwardly but surprisingly safe because he's scared of dropping you

will try to talk to you and expect answers until he remembers you're a baby

"so, uh, what kinda games you wanna play?" "ah?" "oh, yeah, nevermind."

gives you random objects to teeth/drool on like clean socks and spoons from the kitchen

usually doesn't like to ask for help, but if you wear diaps, he will 100% go to spy or engie and hold you up like a wet little cat and ask "help how do i change this thing"

weirdly likes making bottles. thinks it's relaxing to fill it up and feed you

favorite thing is to make you laugh. he'll do the thingy wear he tears paper to make you squeal and giggle. hearing you laugh makes him laugh

literally the only time scout has any patience is when he's taking care of you

tries putting you down for a nap and ends up sleeping with you because he doesn't want to leave you

good at calming you down when you cry

"shh, kid, it's okay, big brother's right here"

(3-4) toddlers

he enjoys that you're able to talk with him because all he does is talk

will tell you jokes and you usually don't get the punchline because it's something tom jones or death related

eats your snacks with you. like straight up steals handfuls of cheerios and yogurt bites off your table, he thinks they're delicious

tries to sneak bonk! into your sippy cup and gets yelled at by the other mercs later when you won't take a nap

tries to pay attention to you but always gets distracted, loses you very easily. by the time scout turns around, you're halfway down the other side of the hallway

makes a very poor attempt to teach you baseball, but it usually just devolves into a clumsy game of catch instead

if you won't eat, he either does "here comes the airplane!" or pretends to eat your food to make you jealous

calls his mom when you won't behave, "hey ma, how did ya deal with me when i was a kid?"

thinks it's hilarious to tickle you, will bring out the tickle monster

has a hard time trying to deal with tantrums, usually tries the distraction method of presenting toys to you. if you're really sobbing, he'll wait it out because he doesn't want to upset you further

(5+) kiddos

he's weirdly a lot more chill the older you are in regression, he feels he needs to have rules and guidelines for the littles, but if you're more of a kid, then he is laidback

huge arts and crafts kinda guy, since he likes doodling himself, it's very easy for the two of you to spend an afternoon just scribbling and coloring

you will probably spend more time outside than inside, tbh. he'll bring out balls and chalk and bubbles, anything you want to keep you entertained

will come up with a secret handshake with you (that both of you will forget within the hour and make up a new one)

so many cartoons. he likes watching them anyways so it's a no-brainer for babysitting

if you play with dolls, scout will make them fight each other

loves loves loves games, from hide and seek to the floor is lava to even just counting, he will make everything into a competition

he'll let you win on purpose though because it makes him happy to see you happy

"i can't believe you beat me again, toots! you gotta give your big brother a chance next time, yeah?"

will let you give him a makeover! if you have makeup, he'll use it, but usually it's just acrylic paint or washable markers because no one else at the base owns makeup

lets you stay up way past your bedtime, especially when it's movie night

holds dance parties in the common area oh yeah !!! they typically end up in scout trying to dance battle

⚾️|| Caregiver-

- Bakes for littles often and is really good at it [he was taught by his ma]

- Loves teasing littles by giving tickles or making fun of them playfully

- He really enjoys being a caregiver, due to being the youngest in his family and his mercenary team, he feels great having someone look up to him

- Sneaks snacks for the littles for them when they aren't supposed to but they're hungry

- Often plays sports related games [like tag or ball] with the littles and has the most enjoyment in them, but usually he lets the littles to choose what game they play

- Gets VERY upset but in a comical way [from the other's view] when a little gets hurt and he'll worry alot and kiss the little's boo boos which is adorable [I LOVE THIS HC :3]

- He loves giving gifts! Either bought or homemade, he just loves giving them

- Loves sleepovers and cuddles, and he'll gladly cuddle a little to sleep!

🍼|| Little/agere-

- Regresses at ages of [1-7]

- A very whiney and loud little one, but he's a very good kid and a goofball

- He loves playing tag or ball with regardless if theres another little or a CG, he just loves to play and often has alot of energy

- He can get very cuddly when he's fussy and he will not let go of his CG

- A very picky eater, often settling for dino nuggets in his favorite bunny plate with a juice/Bonk in his sippy cup. and the baby really needs to eat his greens but he'll get fussy and cranky :"D

- He loves stuffies! and his favorites are bunnies and squirrels

- Loves hands on activities such as coloring but he'll end up making a big mess

- A very cheeky little one, loves playing pranks on his CG

- he always insists that he's big and he gets all pouty and whiney when his CG calls him out

of course!! i love writing for him (i say that abt all the mercs tho teehee). regression age is not mentioned but it's somewhere between 2-4! reader uses sippy and a pacifier. this was a little shorter than i wanted it to be so i'll probably expand on it in the future!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Today had been great. You had spent the afternoon chilling around the base with the other mercenaries, as it had been a day off from battle. The opportunity for rest was always a great surprise, and you just had to take the chance to use it to its fullest

Evening was approaching quickly, though, and you were starting to regress for nighttime, a habit you found yourself slipping into. You were small enough that you had stopped talking in full sentences and had opted out of playing poker, instead choosing to watch as the men gathered around the table competitively.

"Hey, ya sure you don't wanna play?" Scout asked, noticing that you were quieter than usual. He didn't want to make you feel left out. "There's always room for one more, ya know."

When you shook your head "no" instead of giving a real response, he raised an eyebrow, but turned back to his set of cards anyways. He could tell something was up, but chose not to mention it in front of the others.

Eventually, you toddled off, not wanting to fully regress with the rest of the team present. As you retreated to your living quarters, you retrieved your paci, humming to yourself as you sucked on it and pulled out your coloring book to play with.

It had only been a half hour until the team was done with their game, and Scout was suspicious on where you had gone off to. He slunk past the others to go looking for you, standing in front of your door for a moment, taking a deep breath before knocking.

"Uh, hey Y/N, don't tell me you're sleepin' already, it's only 6pm!" he says from the other side of the closed door. When he doesn't get a response, he tries again, "You in there?"

Gently, he pushes the door to find it unlocked, swinging open. There you are, sat on the floor with a pacifier in your mouth, scribbling nonsense onto a picture of Pinkie Pie, making little noises.

When you hear Scout come in, your head whips around, but you make no urgent move to cover yourself, too regressed to care. The both of you stare at each other for a moment, his eyes dropping to the different aspects you've got around you before speaking again.

"Y/N.. you alright? What's all this?" he asks. No answer again, you just coo and look at him with round, curious eyes. "Okay. Whatcha doin'?"

He sits next to you on the ground, pointing to your pictures. "You, uh, like drawin'?" He's unsure what to say, not wanting to upset you. However, you seem perfectly fine and happy with yourself, so he rolls with it.

You gently start to grab for his hat, your little fingers gripping the brim as you tug at it, wanting it. "Whatcha doin' kid, you want my hat?" he chuckles, taking it off his own head and setting it on yours. "That's pretty cute." he says aloud, looking at you with your pacifier and his hat, blinking up at him.

You pat your own head, now covered by his hat, and reach behind you to curate your sippy cup. Using two hands, you hold it up a little too close to Scout's face, speaking for the first time in a few hours. "Juice?" you mumble from around your paci.

"You want juice, kiddo?" he smiles softly, taking the cup from your hands. "Alright, let's go get juice." He stands up, shaking his hand for you to grab. When you clutch on to only one of his fingers, his heart melts.

"Big brudder," you mutter, following after him as he leads you to the kitchen. He stops for a moment, reeling at the fact that you called him that on your own.

"Yeah, toots? Ya need somethin' else?"

"No," you shake your head, "Jus' like you, see." You point to the hat again. "Match."

"Yeah, kid, I see." Scout gives you a toothy grin, placing his free hand on your head and ruffling it a little.

"Just like big brother."
