quite minor, but it made me giggle- so, many of wano's samurai tend to end their sentences with でござる/~de gozaru, a somewhat antiquated version of 'to be' (which normally would just be ~aru/~iru). the japanese word for monkey, meanwhile, is saru (like kizaru).

so the monkey mink bariete, when he speaks, ends his sentences with でごサル/~de gosaru.

Nami obviously knows that Big Mom could likely handle things and they could use that time to escape, but there’s been a lot of...instances this arc with the Strawhats just kind of reaching their breaking points on things they’re not going to ignore and this is most certainly hers.

Chapter 1012 — Itch

This chapter was a pure delight and the unparalleled highlight and thrill of my week!

As foreseen, the scabbards are splitting up.

If they survive. If.

I just love Nekomamushi’s grin! He’s so severe and promising his opponents a world of pain.

Go and get that sticky creep, you crazy cat!

And what will Momo (and the peeking Shinobu) learn? So exciting!

But seriously:

THIS was the highlight of the chapter and of the whole bloody Wano arc so far:

EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!

AND THIS JUST CONTINUES THE GREATNESS.

Law, sitting cross-legged on Sanji who saved them on pure instinct, before rushing to help Kid fight Big Mom (and probably save Nami and Usopp in the process). Sanji showing skill? in bandaging up Zoro. The tactical discussion between curly-brow and mosshead, without any insults. The speech bubbles and font choice for Zoro, showing how injured he is (it’d be neat to know how it was done in the originals). Zoro’s unwavering faith in Luffy.

Also:

Got to love the weakling duo.

ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY SHOW RESOLVE.

Nami’s love for children really shines through. And with Zeus coming their way coupled with Big Mom having a new homie (and Prometheus earlier “we should dump Zeus, wink wink nudge nudge”) — she will be able to take on Ulti!
