i was really about to throw hands with anasui for bringing up marriage Again at a time like this but after he explained it was kind of touching in a way?? seeing how anasui is admitting his vulnerability and fear for the situation, knowing that probably not everyone is going to make it out alive, and that hes very likely a single mistake away from death himself. and hes asking jotaro for his blessing so he can retain the hope that he might one day be able to be with the love of his life.

the way he said it makes this a little debatable but i really like how he made a point to be like “you dont have to say yes and give me that certainty, but just that youll allow me to if jolyne ever does love me back”

but then again im also trying to figure out if anasui genuinely thinks jolyne will love him back eventually?? like its inevitable that hell one day win her over??? he definitely started out that way but then again Then Again hes eased up on that overtime and has become more accepting of the idea that jolyne doesnt like him like that and might not ever.

and in this weird Stew Of A Subplot ive got my own character analysis of anasui very blatantly telling me that hes autistic and simply doesnt really understand how the world works on a social level, and that almost certainly extends to romance, too. hes very convinced of how things Should work and gets confused when they dont. and since he was a Freak since even early childhood that was probably alone often and spent a lot of time in institutions, it undoubtedly skews his idea of the world around him every more.

thats not to say anasuis totally justified in fucking ACTING like this or that hes totally innocent deep down but like. i really think hes got an honest heart and loves jolynes and tries to do his best but just has the wrong ideas on how to go about it. and that goes for all parts of him, i think.

i also really appreciate how he always gives importance to the Mission when he needs to, and only bringing up his love for jolyne when theyve got the time. just like a chapter ago he even told jolyne that he appreciated her worrying about him but that they all should really focus on finding pucci. hell give his opinion sometimes but always listens to jolyne, too.

anyway. i love you anasui. you got some wack ideas about love but i value you
