Rambling about Fairies - Manga Chapter 167
I wish the reunion was given justice. Honestly, in an ironically similar way to Jerza, Mystogan and Wendy’s relationship is also one where fate doesn’t allow them to be together. Of course, I’m not speaking this in a romantic lens. But the urgency of events always stands against them, disallowing them from ever having a proper, tearful reunion to just take in the fact that each other are alive.
It’s wonderfully tragic, if only Mashima remembered to emphasize them at all.
I like to think Mystogan settled in Fairy Tail because, after he left Wendy, he found Porlyusica and learned everything about this world from her, and she’s also the reason he managed to properly settle down with an ‘identity’ in Earthland. Though, I don’t like how it’s never truly explained why he never went back for Wendy. Probably because it was more convenient to leave her.
But I wish this built into something for Wendy and Porlyusica. I wish Wendy got closer to her more than just realizing she’s Grandine from Edolas, I wish they had a similar adopted daughter sort of relationship like Porlyusica and Mystogan kinda felt like in the Phantom arc. If Chelia also joins in, it’d be cute.
I just feel like, after Edolas, Porlyusica would also miss him, you know? He was the only one she mildly tolerated and didn’t immediately chase away, because she knew they were both from Edolas.
Hah
Oda draws better than I do left handed, and I am left handed
Ch167, Ran-Mao’s strengths
It’s hard to post about this chapter and show images without posting the whole thing (it’s so short), but here ya go. Some panels.
Definitely a deadly weapon, not just formidable.
He acts like he doesn’t know what happens to these women. Then he’s about to “confess”, but...
...Ran-Mao is poised to punch him again, and maybe she’s about to get some information out of him. However, I don’t think he knows the truth, just lies he’s been told... or at least he doesn’t know the whole truth.
Because after Jane knocks Ran-Mao out with the blow dart, she simply tells Heathfield “we’ll dispose of this woman.”
It could be that he knows what she means by “dispose of”, but it’s also possible he doesn’t. He might know about looking for “shapes of souls” and not know about the blood collections. It’s also interesting how in-charge a maid is being to the supposed “master of the house.”
Like Stoker, Heathfield might be in the dark about much of what’s really going on. But, unlike Stoker, he knows he’s deep into some shady activities. I do not feel sorry for Heathfield the way I felt sorry for Stoker, despite Heathfield losing his wife and child.
Oh, but who all was it who mentioned that Ran-Mao’s presence around all that opium might help her overcome any drugs she’s given at the manor? Well, time for you to celebrate.
Ranmao for 166 chapters: :|
Ranmao in 177 for one panel: >:D
(I don’t think y’all understand how long I have been waiting to see one emotion on her beautiful face.)
Aoyama force feeding Midoriya cheese is one of the cutest and sweetest things, while also one of the creepiest things I've ever seen. *autistique* (see what I did there? Put some Aoyama flare on that.)
