Someone I know recently discovered these ships share a name.
has anyone done this already
all of the dead poets (or at least 6 of them) are queer but they're on such different levels like
anderperry are sliding down the rainbow like leprechauns, smiling and giggling
charlie is frolicking around them like a fairy, with neon pink wings and singing "good luck babe"
mittsie are dancing together and looking into each other's eyes ("no homo bro")
and cameron is in the background, holding Charlie's hand like 🧍♂️
I'd draw this if I could hold a pencil 💔💔
chameron you are so dear to me...
I went crazy over Chameron, so this is my banner here. Umm... yeah
live, love, laugh enemies to lovers. I've read all the fics, even if it was Minor Chameron. I LOVE THEM, MY CUTIESS
dps ship breakup HC's
Anderperry:
i feel like if they ever did break up it would be later in life, like they're late 20's early 30's after Neil gives into his parents' pressure to get married and settle down with a girl of his father's choosing, Charlie would be his best man and the rest of the poets would be groomsmen.
Todd goes because he wants to be supportive, even though he sobbed for hours the day he received the invitation. Neil only cried when she walked down the aisle because he made eye contact with Todd.
They both get very drunk at the reception and end up sneaking out to the balcony so they can be together one last time.
Knarlie:
Ignore that their whole dynamic + the Chris situation in the movie kind of feels like a break-up.
their breakup tested the strength of the group; Knox avoided them for a solid week because he was so upset he could do nothing but cry and bed rot. When he did eventually gain the courage to 'get back out there', his 'hopelessly romantic' ass proceeded to introduce the poets to every girl/boyfriend he had that lasted longer than a week, just in case they turned out to be 'the one'. Which led to Charlie trying his hardest to not be the bitter ex and failing miserably. this starts becoming a problem after girlfriend No.3 when Knox accuses Charlie of purposely scaring his girlfriends away, as all his girlfriends dump him a little bit after meeting the group, which causes civil war in the group, no one's really team Knox as everyone else can see that the real reason he keeps getting dumped is because he's clearly not over Charlie yet but no one really wants to point that out in fear of it making things worse.
Things only get better after Charlie starts bringing people around to get back at Knox. They have a massive argument about boundaries and both come to an agreement; Charlie will do his best to be civil if Knox promises to stop rushing into things.
It takes a while, but they stop being so awkward around each other, and the rest works itself out.
Pitts + Meeks:
They broke up amicably in their senior year of high school, purely because they'd been together since their freshman year of Welton, so they wanted to see if there was anything else out there.
There wasn't. They get back together at the end of their freshman year of college, because no one can match each other's freak the way they can.
Chrisknox:
I feel like Knox is super intense in relationships because when he falls, he falls HARD. She meets his parents the Christmas they get together, he tells her he loves her three months in, and they move in together a couple months after that. And Chris doesn't know how to feel because she really likes Knox, but everything's happening so fast, she keeps meaning to talk to him about slowing things down but life keeps getting in the way, and she likes being around him anyway, even if he's a little intense .
Things end up coming to a head when he proposes to her, publicly, at a fancy restaurant. Everyone's looking at her like they're waiting for her to say yes, so they can all applaud and get on with their evenings, but they've only been dating for a year, and marriage is such a big commitment. She says no as quietly and politely as possible and tries to help Knox off the floor.
The ride home is awkward to say the least. Knox moves out the following week. They stay friends, but it's still pretty awkward.
Chrisginny:
They had the homoerotic female friendship that all young queer women must face as a canon event; they did everything together, planned to be each other's maid of honour at their weddings and then Chris started dating Ginny's older brother.
I feel like Ginny and Chris didn't speak to each other for a couple weeks because of how betrayed Ginny felt, honestly, RIP Ginny, you would've loved Chappell Roan's discography. Chris and Chet's relationship definitely put strain on Ginny and Chris's; they went from being able to tell each other literally everything to having to keep secrets from each other. they're still super close, but there's a layer of secrecy now.
Chameron:
THEY NEVER EVEN DATED 😭😭😭
their "break up" destroyed the lives of everyone, even mildly involved.
Cameron refused to do anything other than study, and Charlie was on his worst behaviour, he almost gave himself alcohol poisoning.
Charlie point-blank refuses to set foot in his dorm again, and Cameron completely avoids the poets.
Everything gets worse when Cameron encounters an inebriated Charlie who mistakes him for Meeks and promptly starts crashing out about Cameron to 'Meeks'. Cameron takes pity on Charlie and takes him back to their dorm.
honestly you could put this pre-canon or post-canon and both would work.
as always my ask box and requests are ALWAYS open.
hc that charlie leaves his side of the room a mess to the extent that it starts spilling into cameron's side of the room and cameron gets so mad that he starts hiding charlie's cigarettes under piles of clothes because that's the only way he'll pick them up
