knox and Pitts are ADDICTED to the smell of suncream, to the point that its the reason why they don't burn (they spend their lives reapplying every 10 minutes just to catch a whiff of that sweet sweet smell.)
neil tans beautifully, the rest of the poets all burn so bad that they look like lobsters at the end of each beach sesh
Charlie and Cameron have HORRIBLE rowing tan lines because they spend so much time on the water during summer in their outfits (costumes? wetsuits? idk guys im not a rower). they get SO MUCH SHIT from the other poets for it.
knox, despite being a natural burner, is addicted to trying to get a tan, and so is Charlie. they both argue that it makes them more attractive (no one but them notices a difference since their tans are so subtle, but they treat every shade change like the key to biggest glow up ever)
Charlie, pitts, and todd prefer the pool; neil, Cameron, meeks, and knox all prefer the beach. neil has to beg todd to take beach days because he hates the sand feeling.
when they were kids, Charlie and neil took a beach day with their families together. Charlie knocked Neil's meticulously made sand castle over, and ever since then Charlie hasn't been allowed anywhere NEAR any sand structures made by neil.
they have a tradition where they get ice cream after every beach visit! here are their favourite flavours:
Neil: chocolate, Todd: mint choc chip, Charlie: strawberry, Knox: Coffee, Meeks: Salted Caramel, Cameron: also strawberry (this pisses Charlie off really bad cause Cameron is 'copying everything he does'.), Pitts: lemon sorbet
Charlie unabashedly stares at knox whenever he takes his shirt off at the beach. some say their PDA gets even worse during summer, despite the heat
todd HATES the heat so much that he carries around one of those little hand-held fans everywhere he goes. he charges 2 dollars for 3 minutes use. in the month of July alone, he made almost 200 dollars.
in summer, knox gets painfully sweaty hands. Charlie swears he doesn't mind but even so, knox leaves wet patches wherever his hands go.
even in the sweltering heat, neil wants to cuddle in the evenings. todd refuses vehemently, but he permits pinky holding.
during summer, Charlie and neil paint their nails matching colours! as a group, they always buy a cute matching summer bracelet for each of them to remember that summer :)
knox and Charlie, despite being together, go out clubbing together and do a little cheeky flirting. they like to pretend its their anniversary at bars to get free drinks.
the poets like eating dinner at the beach and watching the sunset :) they're also always commissioned to take photos of Chris and ginny, who often demand sunset pics every visit!!
