someone at the function yells "who's that dark-haired boy whose photo you keep in your wallet?" and todd, cam, and meeks all stop dead in their tracks and slowly turn around

lowkey need a dps summer camp au where they’re all cits/counselors like imagine the potential that has

meeks and pitts run all of the sciencey activities and the kids adore both of them, though cameron thinks they’re a nightmare because they keep exploding things

pitts is also a lifeguard for the lake, but really the only person he ever saves is meeks bc that guy is somehow a shit swimmer

todd and knox run arts and crafts things together and the kids team up with knox to make todd start talking a lot to them. the trick they’ve learned is to get him to do a craft and then ask questions (they learned it from neil)

neil is in charge of the play every session as well as the go-to counselor for crying and drama. he has every cure for homesickness ever and every kid leaves him feeling so much better. he likes hearing all the gossip from the kids and is the worst at not telling them about the counselor drama

cameron is basically just in charge of everything, he isn’t actually head of camp but everyone acts like it because he’s so good at it. a lot of the quieter kids gravitate towards him because they know he can be a very comforting and solid presence if they need it

charlie does everything sports. he was the type of kid to try every single one so he knows at least a little bit of how to run them all, and he shows no mercy at all towards the kids. everyone wants him to be on their team at all times

ooh and then all of the kids desperately want anderperry to get together so they keep trying to set them up (none of their plans technically work but near the end of the summer someone catches neil and todd making out near the lake; it turns out they’ve been dating for weeks by then)

charlie and cameron are on opposing teams for the final end of camp battle of sorts and so they’ve been having a joking rivalry (read: foreplay that they haven’t realized yet) all summer

mittsie is the only couple that has their shit together and everyone just thinks they’re adorable

i actually can’t comprehend how the actors of dps made the movie THAT gay. even in the deleted scenes with ginny and chris they give each other the gayest look ever. none of the poets were happy that charlie brought girls to the cave, meeks genuinely looks horrified 😭

it’s like they were filming the movie and they all just unanimously agreed to make everyone in love with the person of the same sex and went with it
