Ok, hear me out, maybe it's far fetched but so far Oden has been the narrator of the flashback, we could read his thoughts. Now, we read Momo's, like when Oden died his will was inherited by his heir Momo, who can also hear sea monsters like his dad, now It's Momo's story.
