I am actually sitting here staring at my screen like. what do you MEAN.

This fic absolutely ruined me in the best possible way 😭

The opening alone already had me emotional — the childhood Potterhead experience, writing yourself into the world just to belong?? That hit way too close to home. I felt SEEN.

And while reading, I was falling even more in love with Mattheo with every sentence — like HOW is he real?? The way he cares, the way he exists in her story… I cannot.

Also, can we talk about how this whole fic gave me major Matilda by Roald Dahl vibes?? That sense of wonder, cleverness, and finding your own place in the world. And the Inkheart energy?? That magic of stories coming alive, of words opening doors… YES. All the YES.

Then the shifting happens and suddenly it’s not just a dream anymore — it’s real, it’s heavy, and it HURTS. Scabbers coming back?? I gasped out loud. The way this story refuses to let canon be easily “fixed” is so cruel and so brilliant.

The psychological toll on (Y/N)??? INSANE. Knowing everything, trying everything, and still failing over and over again?? The Cedric arc absolutely destroyed me. I was screaming at my screen because she TRIED. She tried SO HARD.

And Mattheo Riddle… oh my god. OH. MY. GOD.

The anomaly. The boy who shouldn’t exist. The only one who understands. That Astronomy Tower scene?? I’m not okay. The way he sees her, really sees her, when she’s at her lowest — that changed my brain chemistry.

Him killing Voldemort?? HIM BREAKING THE ELDER WAND?? The kiss in the middle of the battlefield?? I was losing my mind. That wasn’t just a happy ending, that was EARNED.

This fic isn’t just a Hogwarts fantasy — it’s about grief, choice, love, and finally letting yourself have a future that isn’t dictated by canon. I will be thinking about this for a LONG time.

How I feel about this character

Baby girl she is baby. She gives me heart palpitations from her beauty and her CHOICES.

All the people I ship romantically with this character

It can only be Rio, natural disaster pairing who share one brain cell.

However if we do get a Season 4 and the powers that be decide to grace us with a Death divorce I would like to see Beth date Rio’s contrast. So someone that communicates lol

My non-romantic OTP for this character

My mains Annie and Ruby, this trio can have a lot of conflicting feelings but you don’t just invite anyone to enter a life of crime with you.

JT- he’s a funny smart dude who got badly kidnapped and was still down to help them with their counterfeit. He didn’t press charges. That’s bae.

Mick- just for the sake of watching Beth sweat from when he was eating bbq and thinking she was being propositioned. If his boss was such a dumdum with sensitive feelings he def enjoy teasing the boss’ girl

My unpopular opinion about this character

This was discussed at lot with one @cpt-falcon Beth would benefit from going to jail. For sake of plot I think if she wanted to continue on the crime spree she could make criminal contacts on the inside from she gets back out. Cause it’s our main girl she def wouldn’t be in the pokey for very long.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon

She had gone through with the divorce. It’s obvious Dean makes her very unhappy and has for many years.

They emphasize her role as a mom a lot but it’s hard to get a gist of how her relationship is with her kids since we don’t see them much, it’d be nice to see that more it’d def raise the stakes for when life of crime gets risky.

Also that she shot Boomer. He needs to go.

And someone burn her florals.

I think one of the reasons why I relate so strongly to Sera is that her way of thinking, her internal monologue and the way it seeps out into her speech are so similar to my own. I always felt slightly offended when the other characters were like, "Sera you're making no sense" bc I could see the logic and sense behind everything she was saying; it's just that it's a different logic, like, the thoughts and associations come so fast that coherent speech can only ever catch maybe 50% (at best) of them. Idk I just really love Sera and meeting her in-game actually made me feel a little less like an oddity.
