They are adopted/sworn brothers, so the ship is not technically incest.

If that ship bothers you, several One Piece ships should bother you in between adopted brothers or sworn brothers, but I have seen zero complaints. This includes Buggy/Shanks, those two were raised as brothers as far as we know, and Marco/Ace, who became sworn brothers. Remember, Ace joined The Whitebeard Pirates, AKA the Sons of Whitebeard. They all are sworn brothers. So let's please be coherent in your hypocrisy

Isn't this Tumblr? I can't be that old because I remember the heyday of Superwholock. The two most popular Supernatural ships were Destiel and WinCest. Remember, they were so popular that the Supernatural show even addressed this in its meta episodes. What the hell happened? And I remember the Ouran High School Host Club speech where the twins said the whole appeal behind them is when you have two attractive guys who struggle between their attraction and their friendship. Plus, because they're twins, it makes their relationship taboo so even more intriguing. So they were hyper-aware of what they were doing with their whole queerbating/twincest thing, and Tumblr ate that crap up.

It's one of those things where it's fiction, so it's not real, so it's okay because no actual person is being harmed by whatever problematic content is portrayed in whatever fictional media. I personally have zero problems with the most problematic content. But that doesn't include all problematic content. I do have lines when it comes to child characters and lollies. That's why there are rules on my blog. But I can also separate fantasy from reality, and if you can't, you probably need to talk to someone about that because that's a problem.

Again, seriously, what the hell happened to the fandom culture on Tumblr? Why are the moral purity police everywhere? I joined fandoms and Tumblr to escape the oppressive Bible thumpers that I grew up around. Why am I now encountering more oppressive moral policing online from fandom idiots than I do from the Church Karens in real life? I live in the conservative Bible Belt. Those Church Karens are everywhere and in everyone's business

Sorry for my rant. I am tired, and I'm still trying to figure out what the hell happened. I've been on Tumblr on and off since 2010, and I feel like I hardly recognize this community anymore. Now, I have been made aware of the anti-shippers/ anti-fandom movement, and I know it's not just a minor thing because this is something I have found multiple academic research papers on. I'll link a good one. But I pray it's something else cuz these are just kids who don't know better at the moment. I hope one day they will realize this behavior is the equivalent of the Boomers blaming all of the Gen Z and Millennial behaviors. They don't like on violent video games. Again, sorry for the rant

I find it so frusterating in books and movies where character 1, quotes something completely amazing from a random novel and character 2 responds with where it's from, sometimes right down to the exact Shakespearean play. Like holy cows people, I know the bible, but my reply if you quoted it at me would be "the bible." And even then, it might not even be correct. Ha. Imagine writing about a character who stuffs that up.

There are three things above all that bother me about Athena Cykes's character. They cause me to lump her in with Mary Sues, though one does it less than the others.

First of all, and this one's the least Mary Sue-ish of them, she's eighteen and a lawyer, which she achieved by being in Europe. Yet, they flip-flop with having her throw in random phrases in Spanish, German, OR French. The only other characters who did this either stuck to just one language consistently and it was part of their image that they incorporated into themselves beyond the lifestyle it was adopted for (Klavier) or they were incredibly obnoxious and while they started out with just one language, they eventually threw in a second and made the image they'd developed for themselves even less likable or believable (Armstrong, who painted himself as a French chef who suddenly threw gratuitous Spanish in during his testimony). In real life, the people I've met who do this, especially if they try to do it for more than one language, only succeed in coming off as pretentious, especially if they're early 20s or younger. It's like they're saying, "Look at me! Look how impressive I am at so young an age!" She DID have to learn a lot, but the random phrases in THREE other languages besides her own native tongue shouldn't be what she does to get that across.

Second, her "reflexes" when she throws the officer. I don't recall her ever saying anything about taking self-defense classes or studying any martial arts, and considering that it's never really linked back to what happened with the phantom, you can't make that a successful, compelling argument. With what we're provided, we're just expected to believe that she naturally reacts that way if someone tries to grab her. That doesn't happen without training. A person might get tense, they might grab the hand of someone who tries to grab them, but they don't instinctively THROW them.

As for the last of my issues, the moment in DD where she freezes up mid-case against Professor Means and everyone, I mean EVERYONE, had to come to her emotional rescue. Don't misunderstand this one; giving emotional support to someone suffering a breakdown like that is a good thing. And the series has had people giving characters support like that before. However, the problem here lies in the fact that EVERYONE PRESENT had to give her that support, rather than only, say, three at most, a problem made worse by it all happening at the SAME TIME, instead of spreading it out over the course of the trial. If the game wants me to believe she's just as capable as Apollo and Phoenix, then why was that necessary? I'm glad for the humanizing, but the amount the game pushed in such a short time felt so unnecessary. If it took that much to convince her she could do it, then how is it believable that she'd ever do it again without just as much to push her the next time?

I like Athena's visual design. I like that, whatever your take on their relationship, she was so determined to save Blackquill in how little time she had that she completely changed who she was so she could save him. Who she is, is impressive. But there are definitely things about her character that make me groan and question why SO much had to be crammed in and we as the players and fans were just expected to buy into it.

In regards to all this recent conflict about Lzet and his romantic relationship with Reficul being supposedly unnecessary, I just wanna chime in and say Sin and her relationship with Reficul isn’t all that developed either.

I mean, it’s nice that Sin and Reficul are a happily married couple, but that’s all DSP ever really depicts them as; a cutesy, lovey-dovey couple. It’s almost like Sin just exists to be Reficul’s wife, like those kinds of movie adaptations of certain stories where the writers add in some sort of love interest for the protagonist, and their only purpose is to get together with the hero in the end.

We know Lzet can get serious at times despite being mostly cowardly, but what about Sin? She’s apparently kind and loving, but is that seriously all? This is a character who’s based off not only the serpent from the Garden of Eden, but maybe even the daughter of Satan from Paradise Lost. And she is married to a devil! It’s understandable she loves her family dearly, but there’s gotta be some sort of sinister side to her, possibly when she’s not with Refi or Mors.

What exactly is the story behind Reficul and Sin’s relationship, as well as Reficul and Lzet? How did they meet? How did Refi get together with either one of them? How exactly did Lzet become Refi’s right-hand man, and was he her assistant before becoming her other lover? Were there any major struggles before Refi could get in a relationship with either of them? Was Sin always okay with Refi dating Lzet? Does Sin know Refi often tortures Ivlis? How do Sin and Lzet interact when Refi’s not around?

There’s so many questions I have regarding Reficul’s love life that I’ve come to the conclusion that even other canon couples like SameWada, YosaFroze, and Eticalb are better developed than Reficul’s relationships.
