this is hornworm and hes how i express my feelings and process my experiences with my bad leg. sometimes i cant get out of bed in the morning because the pain is so bad and my bad days are called hornworm days to make them just a little more fun.
hes a firefly silk and he loves to sew and knit, both with his own silk and his friend's. he was born in pantala but moved to pyrrhia when he was young, taking one of the (hc/au) established shipping routes between the two continents!
Oh my god, it’s finally done, I made the Momotaro animation meme entirely with pixel art. I really hope you like it! Please consider checking it out for me, it would mean a million!
Alexis’ Character: Julian Howe, Cleric of Pharasma (Carrion Crown)
Hail and well met! I'm back again to talk a little about my boy Jules (pictured above, made on HeroForge)
Jules is a character that unexpectedly became very dear to me. When we started Carrion Crown, our gm Nic told us we'd be building our characters a little differently than usual- most of the time we use a 20 point buy system, but we'd also rolled for stats a few times before, and he wanted to take us out of our comfort zones a little bit this time around.
So we rolled in order, from Strength to Charisma, rolling 4d6 and dropping the lowest. And boy howdy, did I roll poorly! Int ended up being my highest stat, so I leaned into that and made a Cloistered Cleric, and built my boys backstory around that.
As an infant, Jules was abandoned on the steps of a church of Pharasma, and as such is a level 7 cleric/5 inquisitor who is fiercely loyal to The Lady of the Graves. In reality he is a changeling who, when he started to hear the calling to find his birth mother, was mislead into the belief that he is the son of Pharasma herself, and threw himself wholeheartedly into his studies and his work as a scribe.
After the death of his former professor and confidant Petros Lorrimor, Jules was summoned to the town of Ravengro where he met the rest of the gang, and became a member of the Beneficiaries. His entire being revolves around doing Pharasmas work, and with clues leading to the Whispering Ways involvement behind the death of his favorite professor, he's now thrown himself blindly into the hunt to destroy necromancers and stop them from reaching their goals.
I'm kind of the Mom Friend of the group, so despite how often I lean towards good aligned characters (my very first being a Lawful Good Paladin) Jules is actually a true neutral character. He's exceptionally intelligent and cares very much about his friends, but he's also a bit emotionally stunted, lives in a delusion, has terrible anxiety, and is overall almost completely indifferent to anything that doesn't have anything to do with him personally, his friends, his mom, or taking down the Whispering Way. Pretty different from what I usually play!
And I'm LOVING IT. Which I didnt really expect? I'm not the best at rp, but it's interesting to play a character that doesn't have much sense of self outside of being a cleric and child of Pharasma. It's a little sad, but I think it makes him a little more human, a little more fallible. There are times that I'm a bit frustrated by his lack of usefulness outside of knowledge checks and healing (and being the reluctant moral compass,) but overall he's a character that I've grown to love.
There's not anything too interesting going on behind the scenes with Jules, but I'm more than happy to talk endlessly about my baby boy if anyone has any questions about his stats or spells or more backstory stuff!
So I've seen this with Flight Rising but not as it's own concept so: I'm feeling kind of down. Please share with me your friendliest OCs who try to make everyone feel good about themselves.
