You know the hyperfixation stuck hard when the inspiration doesn't run out after 3 drawings
Im redesigning the kid's armors,
The Daylight armor is nice! I like that it adjusts to the wearer, makes sense considering troll proportions are wildly inconsistent among the different species, and the fact that there are different species at all, I appreciate that some of the budget went to troll worldbuilding visualization :]
There are some things that I would change about Jim's armor specifically though: the amulet have never been wielded by a human, so its a bit stumped about how to adjust itself to its fragile, gangly bearer.
It is completely comfortable to wear and fight in, but it does still look odd on Jim itself, a bit too big from the outside even when adjusted perfectly to him, in turn accentuating how actually small he is compared to his predecessors and trolls around him in general. Ah, and why does the helmet only appear twice throughout the whole series? It sets a bad example!
In canon Toby's late-show armor is my favorite and I like it's sorta "scrapy design" like it's made from a bronze Vespa, but I do like my proper medieval armor so I tweaked it a bit :3 and made lore for his armor :D
Toby deserves better design and writing-wise, and I do really like his armor later in the series, I just wish he had appeared in wizards and overall was more given credit as a central character (ROTT doesn't exist don't talk to me about that)
There's no nice way to put this, the armor that Merlin makes Claire is terrible and ugly and she also deserves better, and since I am not limited by designs that are meant to be easy to animate in 3d ill give her a better one, and armor lore, because I can't have my girl running around fighting rock monsters in simple leggings.
So they're now a bit more historicaly accurate and always have their helmets on :] because those chainmail bodysuits under the armor were weird :|
I have another post in the making ft. Troll Jim
