This design was made for a very special woman who is currently fighting that terrible foe known as cancer. Besides being scared and sick she is also fighting to even get her most basic of medications covered. Not to mention all of the other bills that are racking up like hospital stays and medical tests. I am blessed enough to live in an amazing town which I have watched come together and display so many acts of kindness towards this family like bringing them meals and starting fundraisers to help them pay for their medications. Which, brings me to this point. I wanted to knit her a warm and soft hat to not only make her feel loved but also cover the hair loss if it occurs. I've started knitting winter woollies for the Exeter Food Fight stands in Princesshay and the St. Thomas precinct. The woollies are free for whoever may need them (just like the food we serve) . First up is a 2x2 rib hat knit in an unknown sock yarn that's been in my stash for years (Opel, I think). The stitch marker, which I love, is from @gretelcreates. If anyone has any machine washable yarn they'd like to donate we'd be very grateful. These items are gone almost as soon as they're placed on the stands once the cold weather starts.
