Summary:
Stiles' love life was practically non-existing, always had been. He was always terrible at picking up clues when people hit on him (it had happened, Erica had been witness to it and had been the one to let him know it was happening in the first place) because he never expected anyone to do so.
He wasn't the most desirable guy around, he knew that. He was loud, extremely nerdy, never knew when to stop talking, not exactly much of a looker if you asked him, the list was endless.
Point was, he never did know when someone was flirting with him. Which was probably how he ended up in the fight that would change his life for the better.
Stiles and Scott, smugglers, come across an abandoned ship in the middle of nowhere. While looting the ship for goods and valuables, they find an unconscious crew member, who turns out to be a prince. With bounty hunters on their asses, they fly across the galaxy in search for the prince's lost family.
It is only with the heart that one can see rightly. What is essential is invisible to the eye. Trans Steve and Trans Bucky! Below are my Top 5 Favorite stories:
“You make the rockin' world go 'round” (E, 7k) by Neonbat
Steve was determined to hit the gym and try to bulk up when his biweekly trips took an unexpected turn. He was caught between his goal and staring at a man that was sending him into a bisexual spiral.
A man, that turned out, kind of wanted to kick his ass.
+ Modern AU. Trans Steve is really into thicc Bucky. Rimming, strap-ons, and dating

“seasons change (but people don't)” (E, 2k) by ftmsteverogers
“If there’s a girl I’m meant to be mourning, I want to know,” Bucky persists, as though Steve hasn’t had a close brush with asphyxiation right before his eyes. His foot twitches against Steve’s under the table.
“There wasn’t a girl,” Steve coughs. “Why…?”
Bucky’s gaze is sharp and discerning as his eyes flick back and forth between Steve’s.
“There was,” he says, right hand gripping the counter behind him in a white-knuckled grasp. “A girl. A small blonde girl.”
+ Pre-War, WW2, and Post WS. Three Non-linear scenes of acceptance

“What's In A Name” (M, 3k) by cleo4u2
Steve has always know his best friend will be his soulmate. So when he wakes up with the name of a guy on his arm that he's never heard of, he's devastated. Thankfully, Bucky has a surprise in store for him.
+ Modern AU. Soulmate AU! Steve wishes his soulmate mark read Bucky instead of James.

“Tomorrow Is Another Day” (T, 75k) by charlesdk
When Bucky got the door shut in his face by a tiny, barely awake blond, he never thought that said tiny blond would become such an important part of his life. Or that he would fall deeply, hopelessly in love with him way too quickly.
+ Modern AU. Bucky meets Steve, befriends, and falls in love with him over seven months. Found family and supporting each other

“Undercurrent” (T, 4k) by NachoDiablo
Bucky might be more than a little smitten with a certain cute, blond lifeguard, but there's no way his feelings are reciprocated... right?
+ Modern AU. Mutual crushes, a small misunderstanding, and a date

Of Glasses And Lacrosse Sticks by charlesdk (wordcount: 6,810)
“Okay, how 'bout this? One date, just one date, and if you still don't believe I'm genuinely interested in you, then I'll leave you alone for good. How does that sound?”
Derek hesitated for another moment, before he sighed and said, “Fine. One date.”

“Do you still get cold?” he asked, breaking the silence. The camp was quiet outside Steve's tent, everyone asleep except for the ones on watch and the few who couldn't.
“Not like I used to. Guess I run hot now. No more worrying about getting pneumonia or dying of hypothermia.”
With a quiet hum, Bucky nodded. It should make him happy. It did make him happy.
Starry, starry night, paint your palette blue and grey. Artist Steve is canon, so this category is more focused on actual painting. Below are my Top 5 Favorite stories:
“The Restoration Artist” (E, 109k) by superheroresin
As a conservator of rare oil paintings for The Met, Steve Rogers thinks of himself part scientist, part archaeologist, but hardly an artist in his own right. Only when he’s faced with the daunting task of restoring a frozen painting from a recently unearthed Nazi art hoard does he start to feel his passion for the craft return. Before he has a chance to understand what that means, Steve is transported to the 1940’s, where he meets both The Winter Soldier himself, and his own destiny.
+ WW2 Bucky and modern Steve. Time travel, mystery, romance, and happy endings

“The Conservation of a 17th Century Painting” (E, 12k) by birdjay
Well. He does live alone, and it’s not like anyone would find out. He could safely stick his hand down his pants right now and not have to worry about it. He’s jerked off loads of times in his own apartment. It’s...healthy to let stress out this way...right? And the fact that it’s to a doctor of art history isn’t weird. Or at least, not super weird. People have masturbated to weirder things. Steve knows that for sure. And it’s not like Dr. Barnes is rough on the eyes or anything, either. He’s quite possibly the most handsome man Steve’s looked at in months. And, well, there’s the whole art side to things, as well.
Steve can’t even remember the last time he’s spoken to someone actually interested in art, who coincidentally is also someone he’d like to bang. Actually, no. He’s never had that happen. Most men he’s dated have absolutely zero interest in listening to him rant on about color theory and the details of Leonardo’s triangular composition style. And the women, well, they either were already married, a lesbian, or he wasn’t interested. So, no. This isn’t that weird.
+ Modern AU. Bucky is Steve’s holy grail of a man: competent, attractive, and likes art.

“Courting 101 by Bucky Barnes” (T, 9k) by charlesdk
It takes a whole minute before Steve turns to him and, when he does, he plucks the paintbrush out of his mouth and smiles at him, like everything is completely fine and normal and not at all a disaster.
“Hey, Buck,” Steve greets him, happy as ever. “How was your day?”
“Did a fucking bomb explode in here?” Bucky asks, the words stumbling out of his mouth before he even realizes it.
OR; Bucky likes Steve. He likes Steve a lot. But Steve is a fucking disaster and an asshole and Bucky has had enough of it. In hindsight, getting revenge probably isn't the best way to get Steve to like him back.
+ Modern AU. Living with an artist can get a little messy. Crushes to enemies to lovers (And they were roommates!)
-☆-
“Uncertainty of the Law” (M, 26k) by mambo
Steve didn't expect to fall in love with the lawyer looking at his painting.
But he did.
+ Modern AU. Artist Steve and Lawyer Bucky try to fit their lives together. Domesticity and reevaluating career paths.

“The one where Steve and Bucky reconnect” (M, 2k) by chicklette
Steve and Bucky date while Steve is smol, then they break up, and then reconnect when Steve is big, but Bucky doesn't know he's big, and Steve loves that because he's 100% over people liking him for his new looks.
+ Modern AU. Old habits die hard; Bucky still looks for Steve’s perfect shade of blue paint
Leannán /ˈʎɛn̪ˠan/ ;
noun | lover, sweetheart. From Old Irish lendán, lennán (“(male) lover, sweetheart, beloved”).
“Steve Rogers,” he says and holds out his free hand to Bucky, putting on a kind smile while simultaneously ignoring Cassidy climbing onto him.
“Bucky Barnes,” Bucky says and shakes his hand. But he isn’t looking at him. No, he’s looking at where Cassidy is planting one of her feet flat against Steve’s hip and hoisting herself off the ground. There’s a smile on his lips and a soft expression on his face, and Steve tries really hard to ignore the urge to ask for his number.
Oh boy. Not good.
OR – In which single father Steve Rogers meets and befriends kindhearted asshole Bucky Barnes and falls in love despite his best efforts not to. It’s a slow and challenging journey thanks to his past but eventually they get their happy ending. Together.
