just think about… the fucking soul-crushing drama… I would die… think of all the horrible circumstances:

Robert makes Chas dinner (idea given to me by a friend, but I don’t to out them as into this), just as friends, wants to cheer her up. Aaron comes home and Robert lies, says he made it for him… he’s not quite sure why he lied, though… why does he want to hide his friendship with his own boyfriend’s mum?

Aaron’s in the hospital b/c Chas did something stupid and put Aaron in harms way. Robert loses his shit, shouts at her, can’t believe what she’s done!! but then later at the hospital, they’ve both calmed down, they’re waiting for Aaron to heal… Rob and Chas are worn out and leaning on each other, just exhausted with worry…

It’s a weird closeness, and tehy both know it, but they pretend it’s normal. Chas talks about feeling like she only ever hurts Aaron, and Robert talks about how he feels like he does the same. They get each other. They know what it’s like to always screw up and hurt the person you love.

Aaron and Robert are engaged. It’s Robert and Aaron’s stag do, and they’re doing a sloppy thing where they split the party between them, so Rob’s drunk at two parties now, and he’s said something stupid and upset Aaron… and he staggers around the pub, crying to a drunk Chas to let him talk to Aaron, but she says no, it’s over. There’s an awkward moment where their faces hover closely, but they dont’ know what it means, and they both pull away quickly, focusing on Aaron again.

Aaron’s ended things with Robert, and he’s pulling away from his family, too. He won’t talk to Chas OR Robert. They’re both worried sick, as per usual, and they bond yet again on how they always screw up. They get drunk together, and then that’s it. Chas drives off drunk to get Aaron, but Robert follows her, and they both pull over on the lay-by, and he’s shouting at her that she shouldn’t drink and drive, and she’s shouting the same at him, and then they’re fighting–and it starts to rain–and then their mouths meet in the middle of shouting, and they’re so confused.

But they totally bone, a whole new low, some weird sick self-destructive thing where they hate themselves so much they go and make it WORSE for themselves, for Aaron, for everyone.
