NU Pep Squad
Hindi pa rin maalis sa utak ko yung performance ng NU kahapon. Palibahasa 1 araw pa lang naman nakakalipas saka ang galing talaga nila grabe! Sana sila ulit next year ang guest.
Cheerdance Competition
Yun tuloy walang mali, malinis, tapos walang naaout balance hindi nanalo kahit 2nd runner up man lang. Grabe! Feeling ko tuloy dinaya.
Not a theme but a vision.
"UP is fighting for an advocacy while the others are just fighting for the title." Though UP is also fighting to get the throne back and beat NU again, the main reason UP Pep Squad performed today is to make a show-stopping performance and fight for equality.
I enjoyed watching this year's UAAP Cheerdance Competition. All teams have great themes. All of them performed well today; although they are not flawless, they sure are fun to watch.
I cried during the UP Pep Squad performance. Yes, I love my university. When I was watching them perform, I could feel the Maroon Fighting Spirit in me. And having to fight for LGBT rights and equality through a complicated routine must be very fulfilling for the whole squad. I totally loved the part that the women in the squad were the base and the guys are the flyers. And the women had masculine stunts, the men had feminine stunts (well, not throughout the routine.) All sexual preferences, all gender, was represented during the routine.
Sure, National University won the whole competition. But UP didn't just perform like puppets. They performed with all their hearts. And that, for me, is a true champion.
Everyone loves UP Pep Squad's performance. While watching the awarding on TV, I felt everyone's hearts breaking because UP just got 2nd place. Reading everyone's tweets about UP is really heart-breaking yet it brings me so much joy because they are not bitter at all. They all praised the squad.
I also read and heard rumors that NU students tore the rainbow flag that UP students started passing around. I don't know if it's true but if it is, then shame on them. That flag not for the competition. That flag represents our respect for the LGBTQ community. I was saddened by that rumor. I had so much respect for NU students yet this news truly saddened me. Oh, well, let's just hope it's a false rumor.
Congratulations, NU, for being the back-to-bark champion! :)
Congratulations to UST for the comeback! Yes, you're back in Top 3! See you again next season!
And most of all, congratulations, University of the Philippines! We didn't win the competition but we won in heart. I love you Maroons. I am privileged to be called an Iska. <3

Okay. People have been replying to this and giving explanations about that rainbow flag. yes, I already know it was a rumor. I actually posted another entry for that and I forgot to edit it into this post. So, here's the [link].
I hope we win the cheer dance competition ughhhhh
Thank you, Saint Leonard Academy, for having me as one of your judges for this year's Cheer-Dance Competition! Happy to see my fellow Leonardians! Dati, kami yung nagpe-prepare, nagko-choreograph at nagper-perform. Ngayon, bumalik ako kung saan ako nag-preschool hanggang nag-high school bilang alumna at Hurado! Thanks sa experience na 'yon! :) Happy rin to see new generation of talented Leonardians! Felt so proud! I love you, SLA! (Photo taken at Onin's crib using Januar's iPad. Haha!)
