In the castle's kitchen...

Chef Louis: *moving a stack of plates, angry* "Why does the week have to start on Monday? Couldn't it just start on Tuesday? I HATE MONDAYS."

Also Chef Louis: *almost crying* "I'M TIRED! Why do I have to get up at such an hour? It's too early! I want to go back to bed."

Carlotta: *happens to pass by there* "Oh, good morning, Louis"

Chef Louis: *suddenly stops complaining* *blushing* "G-good morning, Carlotta"

Also Chef Louis: *completely calm* "Thinking back, maybe I just like Mondays. I feel like this particular day is going by a lot faster than usual." *continues working, whistling*

In the meantime...

Ariel: *nudges Eric* *whispering* "Did you see what I saw?"

Eric: "Yeah... what do you say, let's bet they'll be together in a month?"

Grimsby: "Eric, please, don't introduce Ariel to betting. A lady shouldn't do som-"

Ariel: *doesn't listen to Grimsby at all* "A WHOLE month? I'd say two weeks." *nods, confident in her prediction*

Eric: *grins* "Uh, I see someone here is ready to lose..."

Grimsby: *facepalm*

Two weeks later...

Carlotta and Chef Louis: *happier than ever* *walk hand in hand, smiling and looking deeply into each other's eyes*

Meanwhile, in the same room...

Ariel: *clears her throat and nudges Eric, holding out her hand towards him*

Eric: *sulking a little* *passes a bag of coins to Ariel, without even looking at her* *muttering* "That DAMN beginner's luck..."

Grimsby: *smiling satisfied* "Don't say I didn't tell you, Eric."

Eric: *crosses his arms over his chest, still angry* *to Grimsby* "Oh, please, could you just stop talking for a moment?"

Ariel: *eyeroll* *smiles*

Note #1: Chef Louis doesn't start work that early, he's just a sleepyhead. CHEF LOUIS ONE OF US (I still don't like what he tried to do to our poor Sebastian, anyway)

Note #2: am I the only one who ships Carlotta and Chef Louis? Every time I watch the movie, he always seems a little too embarrassed when she goes to check on the mess he made in the kitchen, as if he didn't want her to be the one to see him like that.

Note #3: don't worry, Eric usually can't stay mad at Ariel for more than three minutes (he loves her too much), especially for stupid reasons like this. He's a Prince, of course he has a lot of money, he's a little angry simply because he was sure he would win against Ariel, who had never bet, and this hurt his pride a little... awww, poor Eric, defeated by the classic beginner's luck

This could be a bit of a coincidence but do you think Rook's interest of the Leech twins could be based on Chef Louis from The Little Mermaid?

He is a character with a French accent and loves fish to a unhealthy extent to explain him briefly.

I think it’s probably just coincidence??? If it was just sea creatures he was fascinated with, then maybe there would he a stronger argument for it, but Rook enjoys observing animals of all kinds. Must be in his nature as a huntsman 😂

Interestingly though, “les poissons” (literally “the fish”) looks similar to “le poison” (“the poison”), and we all know Rook’s fixated on Roi du Poison (Vil)!
