Bible cherry pickers are scum on both sides. If you cherry pick the parts of the bible that suit your hateful agenda against women and queer people, you’re an asshole. But if you cherry pick the parts of bible that make it look good, and you ignore the parts that condone slavery, killing gays, and bigotry against women and children, you’re just as bad as the people who use it to condone hate. The bible condones slavery, and killing pagans and gays, and forcing women to marry their rapists, and killing children, and you can’t stick your fingers in your ears and pretend that it doesn’t. If you’re more worried about people viewing Christianity in a negative light than you are about acknowledging the horrible things in the bible, you’re scum. Stop treating the bible as the magnum opus of morality, because it’s anything but.
