Oh, thank you for this question! I used to update my top 5 favorite kdramas at the end of every year, but during COVID, I just lost interest in many things, including making this annual list. Thank you for giving me a reason to do it again now, lol.

I tried to come up with 10 titles, but I got stuck at 8. Anyway, without further ado:

Disclaimer: The above dramas are my favorites, but I don't claim them to be the best of the best. In fact, the two titles with an asterisk (*) have unsatisfying endings (to me), especially MotA lol. Still, that drama was also quite revolutionary imo, and I remember being so excited to watch it every weekend.

Note: "My Wife Is Having an Affair This Week" is a remake of a dorama. It was streamed on Netflix long after it was broadcast, and the English title was changed to "Listen to Love".

Can we please stop making long hair (for men, short hair for women) and glasses an "ugly" trope, cuz honestly long hair is hot, and glasses are a necessity (and also hot).

I keep seeing media and shows and even people use it as a "pre-glow up" trait, but honestly long hair often shows more personality, it is just about maintenence and the cut!

And glasses the same, you can't change your eyes! But you can find some that suit you!

Let's start doing actual glow-ups of people working on their posture, finding the right products for their skin, things ppl can actually change fairly easily, on confidence~

period dramas, five word recs

MY recommendations because i love love love historicals - admittedly, i'm not a fan of all the palace politics (so really what i like are saeguk adjacents) but i do love costumes (!!!!), swordfights, loooong timelines, and tragic romance (not all of these have all of these lol)

also, i say "historical" (or period) but in this context for me that basically just means they're wearing clothes people likely wouldn't wear today. also includes historicalesque fantasy.
