Childless Chican* Moment #83
This month at my CCA (Childless Chican* Anonymous) meeting we spoke about methods to address the typical "and your kids?" at a children's party you were invited to. We digressed a bit into talking about this label of "the childless one", or in the ancient Mexican dialect referred to as sindescendencia, at similar events.

My latinx parents won't stop saying racist shit and never admit to their own racial prejudices. Literally they just called the majority of black people lazy for not working construction jobs and muslims are the worst for killing thousands of people during 911. They just make the wildest generalizations. Basically said Michael brown shouldn't have been out at night stealing cigarettes if racism exists in the police system...
How the fuck?? I just cried bc I get so frustrated 🙃
Selfie because why the fuck not. Grown a “beard” and started wearing crop tops since last time you’ve seen me lol

Thoughts: I wrote this piece because in watching COPS and Live PD I notice the use of questions to gather information. it’s an annoying strategy because i would rather get the moment over with. this poem isn’t intended to reflect how others should respond or the issues with authority. i see it more as a “before you try to trip me up, i’m going to tell you everything.”
